I cannot stress just how much I wish the newer movies had even a fraction of the wonderful camp that this had. Brutal carnage becomes just one note and dull without the respite of humour. It’s still perfectly doable as AvED and even They Will Kill You recently showed.

I’m not Welsh but it’s not hard to see that there is a fire in Welsh blood for creation and expression.

…and to get rid of him. It’s why he started strong with stuff like this and Hard to Kill and ended up in dull derivative bullshit like On Deadly Ground.

Arguably the only decent movie he ever did. Apparently he was bound to a ten movie contract by WB but it became increasingly obvious that his behaviour, especially with women, was becoming more problematic. The execs started shoving him in as much shit as they could to get the contract fulfilled..
