I usually #run wearing 2 elasticated knee bandages and a liberal application of Volterol. (I've had a lot of knee problems). Decided to try kinesiology tape and seemed to get on fine. I'll give it another go next time. (Plus it's cooler on a hot day 🙂) #running #runnersofbluesky #runchat #running

Stopped on my #run this morning to watch this beautiful #heron at the side of the #Thames. It was perfectly happy for me to take photos, and only decided to move on when a dog trotted by (although the dog showed no interest whatsoever in the heron 🙂)

www.bbc.com/news/article... Since when has a DROP of 0.6°C equated to a DROP of 33°F? Yes a temperature of 0.6°C is a temperature of 33°F but the article is talking about a change in temperature. Wonder if this will get fixed at some point 🤣

#CloverPointParkrun in Victoria on Vancouver Island. Really friendly group and my Leeds Utd shirt got people chatting 🙂. Enjoyable course and I think I ended up 3rd in my age category.

First #run after the weekend half marathon. Haven't slept well this week so I was expecting it to be hard work but in reality it felt fine. Rescued the #LargeRedDamselfly from my kitchen this morning 🙂 #ukrunchat #runnersofbluesky #running #runner

Hot weather for the #BracknellHM this morning. Faded a bit towards the end but managed sub 2 hour and was 6th in my age category (out of...23 🤣) 1st #HM since I was hit by a car in 2022 while running. 😀👍. Now sat in the garden with a book! #ukrunchat #running #runner #runnersofbluesky #runninguk

That was probably my last #run before the #BracknellHM on Sunday. Nice morning for it. 😀 Tulips have just about finished, but this one was still in full bloom. Damselflies are starting to appear and saw my first dragonfly when we visited RHS Wisley. 😀 #ukrunchat #running #runnersofbluesky #runner

Warm morning for a #run along the canal/river. Photo is a nest that seems to have been built on a shopping trolley dumped in the Kennett. I suppose nature is trying to make the most of the mess people have left behind. #ukrunchat #runnersofbluesky #running #runner #garmin #runninguk

Morning #run before my Tuesday Conservation and Care shift at #GreysCourt. Saw the #Heron but wasn't swift enough to get a photo in flight. The 3rd photo is a set of scales Sir Felix would have used to weigh letters for postage. The rates are stamped on the scale 🙂 #ukrunchat #RunnersOfBluesky

Beautiful morning for an early #run. 🙂 Stopped briefly to check (at an appropriate distance) on the nesting swans. The nest is an impressive construction, raised up above water level. Hope they are successful this year. #ukrunchat #runnersofbluesky #running #runner #runninguk #swans

Shorter #run today following my #Garmin watch training recommendation. Yesterday I got my #hearingaids fitted. I'm starting to get use to them and they seem to be making a big difference, but it's going to take a while! (Not for #running of course 🙂) #ukrunchat #runnersofbluesky #runner #runninguk

Early morning #run before my stint as Conservation and Care Volunteer at #GreysCourt for the #NationalTrust. The painting is one of my favourites. By WP Mundy dated 1982, the year Sir Felix died. He and Lady B. were married for 56 years and I think you can tell 🙂 #ukrunchat #running #GreysCourt

Sunday morning #run with Kar this morning followed by a woodland walk in the sunshine. Spent a couple of hours this afternoon playing a game called #Wingspan with the family. It's an excellent game and even if you don't win there's a lot of pretty pictures of birds 🙂 #ukrunchat #running #runninguk

Morning #run round a route I haven't followed for a while. Apparently #Garmin says it was "productive". My VO² score improved so I'd definitely say that was productive 🤣 Hopefully I'll get out again in slightly less than 26 hours for a run with Kar. #ukrunchat #running #runner #runninguk

#Run with Kar this morning. First run with my new #Garmin #Fenix8. Early days but pleased with my choice of the solar version so far. Bluebells are looking fantastic at the moment. #PeacockButterfly is a very tatty example that I'm guessing overwintered. 🙂 #ukrunchat #running #runner #runninguk

Busy day but managed to squeeze in a #run. Pleased with the pace. (Plus I've ordered a #Garmin Fenix 8 solar 🙂) Photos are from a visit to #GreysCourt including one of the costume Elizabeth Brunner (Irvine) wore as Titania in a production of Midsummer Nights Dream. #ukrunchat #running #runner

Advice? Considering buying a #Garmin Fenix 8. Amoled or MIPs screen? My Garmin Venu suffered badly from burn-in. That puts me off amoled. But I'm colour blind and MIPs is less bright. Which to choose? 🤔 Thoughts? (Yes. I know it's overkill) #ukrunchat #running #runner #runninguk #runneeuk

Quicker #run yesterday along a familiar route. Another picture of a bird 🤣 ( The heron was too quick for me and escaped the photo opp, while the swan was more cooperative) Pleased with my pace on this one and it felt really good. 👍 #ukrunchat #running #runner #runninguk #runneruk

Today's #run took me past the Bull at Sonning. Apparently it is owned by St Andrew's Church who rent it to Fullers. It was the hospitium for pilgrims visiting the relics of the St Sarik at the church. No idea what St. Sarik was canonised for or if it's his bike. 😀 #ukrunchat #running #runner #Garmin

Morning #run from the University, through town and back along the Thames. This beautiful #RedKite was sitting in a tree at the bottom of my garden. That's an impressive garden bird! Makes a change from bluetits, goldfinches and woodpeckers. 😀 #ukrunchat #runninguk #running #runner #runninguk

Busy morning, but managed to squeeze in a #run before lunch. 😀 Lots of these lesser celandine flowers brightening up the route. Apparently they are poisonous and can be fatal for horses, cows and sheep. Presumably they'd have to eat quite a lot of them...😁 #ukrunchat #runner #runninguk #running

Turned away yesterday when I went to give blood plasma. Low iron levels. They've recommended I see my GP and banned me donating for 6 months. 😞 Might be why my runs seem harder work. Well, that's my excuse anyway 🤣 On the plus side my knee held up okay 👍 and the sun shone 🌞 🙂 #running #ukrunchat

After only a handful of runs since the start of the year, all uncomfortable, I decided attempting the Wokingham HM today was foolhardy. I took the sensible option and gave it a miss 😞. I did try out my knee on a slow 8km around the local park. It wasn't pain-free but tolerable. #running #ukruncgat

Knee is playing up again. 😞 Disappointing. Looks like next weeks HM is off 😭. Anyone who complains that a treadmill is boring should try an hour on an elliptical trainer! Managed a couple of 1 hour sessions at the gym and it's the most mind numbing experience possible. 🥱 #running #ukrunchat

The Wokingham HM is only a couple of weeks away and not having been able to run in Jan, I needed to prove my knee was fit enough for a longer run. So I kept adding bits until I'd managed more than 10 miles this morning. A few twinges and aches but all seems okay 👍🙂. #running (photos are Karen's)

I volunteer for the National Trust. This week I cleaned this Electrolier (photo from the NT Collection catalogue). It's a delicate process. Taking it down piece by piece and reassembling it while up a step ladder was a little stressful! 🙂 (an Electrolier is apparently an electric Chandelier 😁)

Pilates class was cancelled this morning, so I had the chance to do a slightly longer run. My knee is holding up pretty well. It's more uncomfortable when I walk than when I run. So there's still an outside chance of me #running the Wokingham HM in a couple of weeks time. 🙂

New #running shoes arrived so I decided it was time to test them and my dodgy knee with a steady pace short run. Shoes were excellent, knee was less so but manageable. I just need to see how it feels in the morning. 😟 There's not much colour out there, except for a few primroses making an effort. 🙂

I spent the morning volunteering for the NT at #GreysCourt cleaning some of the ceramics collection. Some items were made in Zurich others in Chelsea. Most date from around 1760. Still no #running (knee problems) but if my new running shoes arrive tomorrow I may have to try them regardless..🙂
