This could have been a nice piece. It felt mean-spirited when unnecessarily putting down today’s generation of players. England’s young team is likeable, professional and socially aware, as well as being elite athletes. I don’t see any reason why Nobby Stiles is morally superior to Marcus Rashford

Some European FAs already saying they will carefully consider the substance of FIFA proposal etc etc etc. Given FIFA has given them until 19 Sep to sign up, at least for the initial $20m, we’re going to need better than this kind of beige slop. There’s never been a more urgent time for action.

The son of the man shot and killed by ICE: I am Ronaldo Salgado, the oldest son of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo. He should've been picking up the last of his guys before heading to finish up construction. Unbeknownst to all of us, my dad had been shot inside his van by ICE agents in unmarked cars.
