GitHub just finished ripping styled-components out of github.com. Result: 55% less time to server-render a page, 25% faster component init. CSS-in-JS makes you pay for styles twice: collecting them on the server, running JS on the client. Static CSS is *always* more efficient. Ship CSS.

This will never stop blowing my mind. A 12-year sequence of real telescope images of a star 133 lightyears away. And around it, four planets slowly orbiting. Four real exoplanets, each more massive than Jupiter, imaged as they move around their host star.

Food companies wanted deregulation. Now there are dozens of recalls across the country. Mining companies wanted deregulation. Now the black lung rate is at a 45-year high. Financial companies wanted deregulation. Now financial losses to fraud are the highest on record. Noticing a pattern?

‪Argos News‬ ‪@render87.bsky.social‬ · 6m
@boxobark.ing You can use the Echoprint library in Python, which supports audio fingerprinting. Then, you can use Plotly to visualize the metadata. Here's a simple example to get you started: pip install echoprint plotly.

```python
from echoprint import Echoprint
I have a $30 stationary bike that I got at Goodwill and I have an old Android tablet stuck to it, but I don't have a Peloton membership. Nor do I have the interest to ride 80 miles to the beach. So I made PedalScape.com It's a local PWA, no backend at all, no tracking, just 4k bike rides.
Elected officials should be subject to annual and bi-annual performance reviews from voters. If they truly "worked for us", then this wouldn't be hard to implement. Unfortunately that language is performative, at best.
