Why does it say ‘Pouring’ when it should clearly say ‘Drinking’ ?

I had decided to break with tradition and not spend all my working day at my desk in my boxers. But I'm sticking to the chair so am gonna have to go and put some on.

Am I being over-sensitive when I say that I really don't think the EFL should actually have a "Whiskey Partner" let alone run competitions to win free alcoholic drinks. Especially when many clubs are a conduit for community activities to address local health and social issues.

Blackpool Council by-election: This is a significant result. Reform were considered the main challengers. Butcher himself got 28% in a recent parliamentary by election. The ward in question is considered deprived. He had promised to open a Reform pub with cheap beer. If Reform can't win here...

Good news! He lost! In one of the supposedly most deprived wards in the country.

On National Poetry Day, here’s a short poem about the power of poetry to change the world.
The Power of Poetry

with things falling apart
and anarchy let loose,

it was only poetry, he found,
which had any use,

so he reached for his copy
of The Complete Works of Yeats

and bludgeoned the President
of the United States

According to documents from the time, I apparently went to Oktoberfest in Munich about thirty years ago.

Junior has a free day today. He's just got dressed, wearing his Revolution coaster t-shirt, his Big One coaster hoody and the joggers with zip pockets that keep his phone secure when he's at a theme park. I think he's planning on going for a nice quiet coffee with his mum...

Burnham as PM is like your wife redecorating your house. Some of it is wonderful. Some of it is just ok. Some of it is horrible and you'll have to put up with it. But the overall result is a significant improvement to how it was, and the bits you don't like you can always change later.

Burnham is clever. He knows he has to draw in as many people as he can, so on things like Brexit he has to simplify and maybe slighly distort certain things to get less-informed people onboard. Don't get worked up on the intricacies of stuff he says, as long as we're heading in the right direction.

Just got my new specs. Expensive compared to what I usually spend, but I went for the thinnest lightest lenses, and they’re ridiculously good. And I used my local independent optician, so I’ve supported a local business, and despite being expensive, they’d have been much more at one of the chains.

Hmm. I had redeemed a free 12 months @getskyscraper.com but it seems to have disappeared. Having said that, the non-pro version still does just about all the stuff I really want that’s missing from the main Bluesky app.

Thing with this Fairford stuff is that yes they were British, but until their ethnicity is released, it's still a potential for weaponisation by the right.

I live in a secluded cul-de-sac. Last night, genuinely, there were two white vans parked up with their doors open (I assume they were organising deliveries for the next morning). It's less than 700m from an airport which has been known to refuel military helicopters.

Question. Are protestors being arrested for opposing genocide, or are the being arrested for actively supporting the banned organisation 'Palestine Action' - because there's a clear difference.

I went to the pharmacy to get a proscription, and now I'm banned from buying ibuprofen.

If Nigel Farage pre-recorded a set of clips for various situations blaming migrants, ethnic monorities or the government, he could then have more time for constutuentcy work in Clacton.

Somebody please tell Lucy Powell that comparing massive pension reform to implementing changes to Manchester’s buses is really not a good analogy.

Replace the comma with a full stop and the context changes completely. Of course what he says publicly and what happens behind the scenes can be two completely different things. My nan used to say "Sometimes you have to stroke the pig" - don't burn bridges, you never need an enemy.

Avanti were always terrible. Far worse than Virgin they replaced and inherited their trains from. Interesting that they run the West Cost mainline, which Burnham uses to get from Manchester to London.

The fastest way to get more reach on BlueSky is to find somebody with a large number of followers, hack their account and steal their identity.
