I usually do something fun for pride month, but I’ve been quiet this year because on the last day of May our cat got outside and we couldn’t find her. It took us 13 days of searching and waiting and trying to trap her, but she’s back inside and is thankfully safe & healthy!

This weekend I got all but one of my tomato plants in raised beds & planters, and found a home with a friend for the extra one. I love starting plants from seed (it might be my favorite part of gardening) & tomatoes are my favorite, so it makes sense I’ve got more than I have room for. #SolarPunkIRL

Four large plastic flour pots and one five gallon bucket, each filled with dirt and is home to one tomato plant. Some are rather scraggly looking, but not look horrible.

I'm a huge fan of tchotchkes & bits n' bobs I can find secondhand, so it's incredibly gratifying when I can set up a photo backdrop with all of the things I have collected. (only the paper flowers were bought new for photography reasons- everything else is either thrifted, hand-me-downs, etc.)

There is a mostly-melted beeswax pillar candle, a lace doily, a string of (fake) pearls, and an old-fashioned teal photo album that looks like a hardcover book. This isn't the cool thing I mentioned yesterday, but it is cool! I had the chance last week to be with some sycamore trees & got some photos of my newest zine. 'Sycamore' explores my feelings of fondness & kinship with these trees. It's now available in my shop if you'd like a copy. buff.ly/Mvfas9y

A small zine sits on a large, living sycamore leaf. The cover features an illustration of a watercolor painting of a sycamore leaf. At the top of the page in all caps, in a small size it says 'MY TRANS BODY IS A LOT LIKE A' and then under that in an earthy pink the word 'Sycamore' is written in a font with letters that mimic the edges of the leaf. At the bottom of the page, just below the stem of the leaf it reads 'Noah Griggs'

A small zine is held open, up to a sycamore tree's trunk where it has split. The pages of the zine say "We both... have very visible scar, are quite lumpy and bumpy,". The first page has a painted illustration of the trunk of a sycamore tree with two splits running upwards from the roots. A pair of pinkish top surgery scars are super imposed in front of the tree trunk. The second page show a painted illustration of a very lumpy sycamore tree trunk with a few large limbs branching off. the belly and legs of a white body are painted in front of the bottom of the trunk.

A small zine is rested against the trunk of a sycamore tree, open. The ground below it is littered with mulch, pieces of sycamore bark, and dried leaves. The pages read "a bit patchy, have curls (and shed quite a bit)". The left page shows a watercolor illustration of a multicolored sycamore tree trunk with patchy bark, and the lower half of the face of a white person. Their chin is upturned and their incomplete and patchy facial hair is on display. The watercolor illustration on the right features a long coiling, curly tendril of hair. Next to the hair is a sycamore tree trunk covered in flaking pieces of bark that curl off off the trunk in all directions.

The back of a small zine against a sycamore tree. It is held up not by a hand, but it is wedged under a bit of loose bark. The back of the zine reads "The sycamore is a tree native to the eastern half of what is currently called the United States." Below this is a painted illustration a sycamore seed pod whose fluffy seedlings have partially fallen off. Under this it reads "Noah is a human being doing their best not to be an invasive species on the land their ancestors colonized. They are an artist & and storyteller who celebrates queer & trans folks & our stories. copyright 2025 Stet Studio"
