Me, every day, reading about this administration and/or their pals in Congress or SCOTUS. Sure, today it's Katie Britt and Eric Schmitt, but it's the same reaction from me every single day.

The ads continue trying to sell me what I already bought instead of what I might be thinking of. This is a metric by which computers are constantly getting outperformed by guys with oily smiles in brick-and-mortar stores.

Me with my safety goggles when it's time to teach a lab class:
"Kid with Goggles" from the movie The Christmas Story.

You know, that kid who Ralphie and Randy are in line behind, when they are waiting to see Santa, and the kid says "I like The Wizard of Oz. I like the Tin Man." That kid.

What if the Triumphal Arch could be something actually useful like a GIANT MECH to combat the Kaiju? Of course hold the gold leaf and don't put anybody's name on it. Also might need to move it from Arlington to idk Fort Monroe or something.

Not impressed with the big touchscreens and driver-assist features on most new cars. Thinking of just getting a red barchetta.

It's been TWO LONG AND STUPID YEARS since we all learned that RFK Jr. once grabbed a roadkill bear cub and drove around with it in his car trunk with the intention of eating it, before eventually dumping it on top of a bike, under a bush, in Central Park, NYC.

DJT left out every POTUS from his own lifetime except for LBJ, Carter, Clinton, Obama, Biden. He just completely skipped Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush, Bush, despite living through their presidencies.

The post is: **"ai bad" is bad.** Ok, where do you want people to go with this? If the anti-AI train is a big L, are we implying that the pro-AI train is a W? Is there more nuance, or is this just a room-temperature "hot take"?
from @hailey.at,
"its been said many times but it is absolutely insane to watch the left shoot themselves in the foot by hopping on this anti-AI train. a massive generational L awaits."

and

"just absolutely blind to where the technology and the world are going, and a surefire way to lose long term."

I am constantly amazed at how bad MLB pitchers are at throwing the ball to any base after making a play in the field.

this from upenn's student paper is worth reading as the term starts: "AI cannot coexist with education — it can only degrade it. As technology advances and workers are replaced by machines, schools are some of the only places we have left to explore and wrestle with human thought."

Friends, this is not a new Constitutional Amendment. It's a superhero movie. You don't have to learn (or remind yourself) what it stems from, what it conflicts with, what it references. Just go in cold and enjoy it, or don't.

Should be an interesting game tonight in Philadelphia, where the Toronto Blue Jays have Max Scherzer starting vs the Phillies' Aaron Nola. A couple of strikeout kings on the mound today. Congrats to Nola, who just got his 2,000th career strikeout here in the 2nd inning.
A list of MLB's all-time "fewest games needed to reach 2,000 strikeouts".

Max Scherzer is tied for 5th, at 287 games. Aaron Nola today met the mark in his 309th game, tying Sam McDowell for 10th place on the list.

A question for baseball fans... lots of folks talking about how we will definitely have a lockout and a lost season next year due to the Dodgers' acquisition of Tarik Skubal from the Tigers. What team(s) could have acquired Skubal without ensuring a lockout?

We should shorter "warning" to "war" to accurately connote the danger the community is in. Nobody will be confused, "tornado war" is clearly worse than "tornado watch".

People in these replies saying of course babies are annoying but you gotta be reasonable. TBH I don’t think babies on airplanes are annoying. I hate flying and I cry vicariously through those sweet dears. Complainers are doing adult versions of baby crying, but more annoyingly.

I predict that the "don't trust the government" types out there will twist themselves to somehow not support this. Transparency & accountability are absolutely essential in a free society. That goes for the free market, and it especially goes for government employees with power over life and death.

Tonight's HR derby is exactly how it should be, except that my guy lost and MLB was horrible for having it broadcast on Netflix. But having the contest come down to the last pitch, and having the last round be two guys who we can all like and cheer for - that's fun.

idk if this is a flex but I taught my oldest to drive without GPS and am currently doing the same with the youngest. When they get lost I respond in memes and they navigate fine from that. The oldest navigates like a pro, GPS is only his guide. So yeah, I definitely feel like this is a flex.
