Brought a ton of extra concerned dad energy to the last haircut of the year.
OP blending into brass/wood paneling of haunted elevator. Hair is uncut. OP appears to be worried about you, but is just looking at his hair.

Loved being able to watch Lindsay Hunter accept the 2024 CHIRBY for fiction. It’s not too late to order her propulsive and horny true crime novel, Hot Springs Drive for the holidays. Thanks to @chicagorevbooks.bsky.social @storystudiochicago.bsky.social @rebeccamakkai.bsky.social for a great night

Statue of a Young Satyr Wearing a Theater Mask of Silenos
Date 1 CE–100 CE
Medium: MarbleVisiting my fave lil guy with a friendlookin at that lil guyA young satyr thrusts his hand through the mouth of a theater mask of Silenos (an old satyr) in a gesture that is both mischievous and menacing. This work may have been part of a statuary group that included another figure whom the satyr is attempting to frighten either in jest or in earnest. Although this subject is frequently found in relief sculpture, particularly on sarcophagi (coffins) and gemstones, this is the only known extant version in a work sculpted in the round. The important 17th-century sculptor Alessandro Algardi restored this statue when it was in the collection of the wealthy Ludovisi family in Rome.

dusting off the ol’ skeetbox.
Poster is in a miraculously empty gym, wearing all black, (with white tube socks and sneakers), soaking wet, and clearly thinking about the thick stack of queer books waiting for him at home

ahead of his feature in publishers weekly and his essay in esquire, I had a chance to connect with a new talent who glitters with the same queer rage as his prose. chireviewofbooks.com/2023/08/04/dis…
