Stephen Strader @stephenmstrader.bsky.social · 02/05/2026The comments in this are so good... I have now been accused of weather control and a large number of at-home meteorologists knew about this issue years ago. So many experts out there! Who knew? It is always the Dunning-Kruger effect. Always. 050
Stephen Strader @stephenmstrader.bsky.social · 02/04/2026I did another thing... A 1988 Martin D16 A (Ash). Martin only made 818 of these. The Ash back and sides are brighter and more of a "glassy" voicing compared to the more common D18 (Mahogany) and D28 (Rosewood). Given emerald ash borer issues nowadays, I had to snag one of these from my birth year. 170

Stephen Strader @stephenmstrader.bsky.social · 29/08/202520 yrs ago. Since then, disaster counts, costs, vulnerability have risen. Disasters are a product of society, and are caused by extreme events interacting with societal vulnerabilities through multifaceted human decision-making processes. We are not ready for the next one... #Katrina #NewOrleans 1101
Stephen Strader @stephenmstrader.bsky.social · 26/08/2025Been getting back into watches and picked up this cheap Timex Indiglo Expedition. Cousin had one of these when I was 8, and he was 16. I thought he/it was the coolest. I begged for one. Mom and Dad did get me one, but it has long since disappeared. Today, its replacement arrived. #Oldiebutagoodie 2100
Stephen Strader @stephenmstrader.bsky.social · 21/08/2025Far too many people are unknowingly stuck on Child's Hill... Hey, when I was 4 yr old, I thought thunder was the sound of clouds colliding and if I stared at my arm when lightning happened I could see bones like an Xray. Stephen Strader @stephenmstrader.bsky.social · 17/05/2025Depending on the construction quality and thoroughness of the damage survey, the EF5 drought could be broken... Stephen Strader @stephenmstrader.bsky.social · 17/05/2025Looks like the London, KY tornado damage path narrowed asnit crossed the airport and it *narrowly* missed a mobile home community by less than 100ft. Also, with this tornado, Somerset, KY, and Monroe-Brown County, IN tornadoes, there is likely a ton of tree damage. 1216

Stephen Strader @stephenmstrader.bsky.social · 02/04/2025I am not a fan of forecasts predicting damage intensity of tornadoes. The EF scale is, at the very least, a function of the quality of structures damaged as much as it is tornado intensity. We illustrated this bias over a decade ago. More stuff to hit, greater odds of higher EF ratings. #wx 052
