VO friends, looking for an opinion: I have a natural airiness/rasp to my voice that is very pronounced at the end of sentences, to the point where some directors have clients have thought that I was 'putting it on'. This is not the case, it's just how I sound, and it's kind of embarassing. 1/?

Currently 193.5 pounds, 2.5 pounds away from my goal weight I set for myself over a year and a half ago when I was 261 pounds. We're so close, we're SO close.

Cregger's Resident Evil was super entertaining but I think I get why so many people are mad about it. That is a movie for survival horror fans, not RE story fans. I really liked it though. Hilarious movie.

Finished The Blood of Dawnwalker. GOTY

Trent Martin 🇨🇦 @stellarvo.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

Watched that Masters of the Universe movie and that thing was FIRE bro. I hate giving Jared Leto any kind of kudos but he was so unbelievably entertaining as Skeletor, I didn't know he had it in him. The action rocked too. I feel the same about it that I do towards the DnD movie, it's just so fun.

Seems like there's actually so much work going around on Linkedin but that website is populated by lizard people bro, I struggle so hard to parse the vibe over there 😂

I was around for both Wind Waker and Twilight Princess release, and I remember people lampooning the art style. Curious...

Trent Martin 🇨🇦 @stellarvo.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

The Blood of Dawnwalker is currently my frontrunner for GOTY. Haven't played a game with fantastically immersive friction like this in forever. Feels like the the first truly great WRPG to come out since BG3.

I'm finally playing Crimson Desert. It is so insane. It has so many disparate ideas and clashing elements. It's tonally inconsistent in both bad and good ways, and the combat is, at best, for spectacle. But I can't stop myself from being utterly immersed. It's so cozy and utterly gorgeous.

Octopath Traveller 0 done. My favorite turn based JRPG I've played in a decade, and my top 1 OT game. The more linear narrative structure leads to a way smoother power curve. It's always drip feeding you new toys as well. The 8 man party also encourages tons of experimentation. Love it. 9/10

Fantasy book chapter names be like: "Chapter 7: Revelations" "Chapter 8: Assault" "Chapter 9: Schemes" "Chapter 10: Revelations" This happened almost verbatim in the series I'm reading 😭

Okay fine CD Projekt I'll play Witcher 3 again before 4 comes out, damn.

New Animation Reel! Been a sec so I figured it was time for an update. There's a lot of new stuff in here, as well as a few classics! Thank you so much to everyone who keeps me busy and working, and to everyone who enjoys my work! You guys keep me moving forward and I'm very thankful

I'm starting to understand a lot of the blanket apathy that Canadians are feeling towards the US right now. Ive considered myself pretty measured through most of what's happened, but right now I'm just, like... oh my fucking god. People actually let this happen. Please try and fix it, I beg.

Had a good time at UMAD despite my abysmal performance in GGST. The worst I've played in like a decade I think. Might be reevaluating how much I commit to it going forward. On the flipside, I did much better in UNI2, and am pretty damn excited to play it more!

I grill Carney a lot for being very wishy washy when it comes to actual progressive policies, but this has the potential to be very very good. Rare kudos. (Praying that this doesn't just wind up being to power inifinite data centers 🫠)

My recent regimen for practising katakana has been to embrace my inner fatass and read the menus from random Tokyo restaurants on Google. My hunger for knowledge is satisfied, but not my hunger for a giant pile of karaage 🥹

Gonna rename Octopath Traveller 0 to Naruto Shippiden the way it keeps reviving and making me fight every villain in the entire game again.

My progress learning Japanese has come to an extremely funny and probably common point where I can pretty easily read hirigana and I'm catching up quick with kana. This means that all the time I'm like: "Hey, I can read that!!!! .... I dunno what it means."

Putting feelers out there. Are there any friends in LA who would be willing to lend a room/fold out couch to two extremely tidy and quiet Canadian travellers sometime next year?

I'm at the point where I can slowly read most things in hirigana (actual meanings and connections are still a work in progress, lmao). I think I might be ready to move on to katakana but I'm afraid that if I do I'll just forget the hirigana and have to start again 😭

It is currently 92 percent humidity in the early morning, but it will not rain. It will feel like 42 degrees tomorrow. This might be the hottest I think ive ever seen Winnipeg in my adult life. My air conditioner is barely keeping up. We need to fix this climate shit now man.

Had Nigerian food for the first time and the restaurant owner assumed I'd eaten it before because I wasn't fumbling eating my soup with fufu. Gonna consider that the Nigerian equivalent of passing the "white guy using chopsticks" check.

Wrapped Shadow of a Dark Queen, first book in the Serpentwar saga. Really liked this a proper large scale follow up to Riftwar. A lot more of an edge to it than the Tolkienesque original trilogy, which emblematic of coming out in the 90s for sure. Great setup for what comes next!

Partner got invited to a bbq from her old coworker, a middle aged lady from Laos. She brought back some of the food. People can just like... make food that tastes as good as a restaurant in their own kitchens and eat it all the time like this? Literally some of the best food of my life.

I think it might be time to look into throwing together a visual reel soon... spent so much time waiting for specific projects to drop only for them to be put in limbo, so at this point, I may as well 🤷‍♂️ Any editor friends who'd be down to help? 👀
