every month or so someone makes a viral joke like this about how drawing porn (it’s usually specifically furry porn) is easy money. meanwhile every professional porn artist i know is constantly terrified that another site is gonna crack down on adult content due to pressure from paypal or mastercard

No, Sonic Colors Ultimate didn't use high-poly Wisps in-game other than the final boss and title. No, Marvel Rivals didn't give Squirrel Girl a cameltoe. No, this model doesn't have bad topology, you just don't know what good topology is here and what's contextually important for the model's use.

furf @stellarfur.net · 06/03/2025

insane to me that 3d modelling is such a like mysterious thing to the masses that they just believe anything they say if someone shows them a blender screenshot no matter how stupid it is

Friendly reminder that Stellarfur is open to anyone affected by @baraag being down for an indeterminate amount of time while they get a new media host. Hope to see them up again soon. (Even if you aren't affected, you're welcome to join too!) ✌️ StellarFur.net

like i'll gladly host my own work on my own server that i pay for and just have you hotlink it from me, just say the word sadly that probably won't ever happen due to potential security exploits or something which is a shame

060

furf @stellarfur.net · 19/02/2025

also wow thats another reason to avoid posting: uploading gifs absolutely fucks the quality because they get converted to a lossy video that sucks, hey bluesky maybe you could finally be the one social media that allows hotlinking from other sites so you don't have to fuckin bother?

I don't post here much, the limitations are pretty crap and word on the street is staff like to ban over porn of stylized/chibi/cute characters, so I'm posting from a fair distance here. That said, I will post some new updates and additions to my roster. Here's Nicole.

I understand some artists' concern that "smaller site = less exposure = less potential patreon subs/commissions/whatever" but thats why you entice people to make the switch, you are directly involved in bringing more people here to share your work post previews on other sites with the full one here

010

furf @stellarfur.net · 11/11/2024

what you lose in "muh thousands of interactions" you gain in actually being able to appreciate those interactions you do get, and the more likely you are to appreciate and interact with the posts on your feed than you would scrolling through the endless slog of the For You feed on Twitter

100

furf @stellarfur.net · 11/11/2024

the inherent value of a post/interaction here (and on other similarly smaller sites) is so much greater than any random slop posted on twitter or reddit, people need to re-wire their brain to actually appreciate it for once "this sucks, i can't get my dozens of tiny dopamine hits like before >:("

Insane how trying to run an site with a shit ton of rules and policies around total puritanical nonsense ends up with your site constantly in the center of controversy after controversy. You rarely ever hear of this from like SoFurry, Inkbunny, Weasyl, etc. just FA and e621.
