Granted it must’ve been a turgid watch, but personally I’d take that 6 or 7 times a year against those teams away as long as we get a point. Pickford has been the player of the last 5 years for me. Absolutely easily the best keeper since Nev. Take that point and move on.

I’ve had a message from the club re. ‘that video’ ‘The stadium had a similar issue earlier in the year. Siphonic drainage has not been finished around the entire stadium, so in this area it has overflown due to the amount of rain we are currently experiencing’ *It’ll be sorted ✔️ #EFC 🔵⚪️

They need to just reserve it for clear and obvious MISTAKES. Why they muddy those waters with minutia is what’s frustrating. I would think they could review the history of VAR decisions and forge a clear sense of what constitutes a clear and obvious on field mistake.

VAR is absolutely draining the life blood out of a dying game. Football is about passion. Not forensic analysis. It’s about a moment in time causing an out of body exhilaration to thousands in a stadium and beyond. It’s not about money. Only passion will resurrect the game we care about.

Anyone calling for Baines to be put in temporary charge don’t know Leighton Baines. He’s an icon for the club, but he isn’t charismatic enough. He doesn’t command the room he’s in and is very much an introvert. U18s is a very different ask compared to managing a PL team.
