The current monetary system forces choices on us: ever growing public debt or either people being left out or everlasting growth on a finite planet which is wishful thinking at best. There are alternatives. A computer simulation of a small village gives insights. claude.ai/code/artifac...

After #Trump his rant about smoke clouds from Canada I'm wondering how long it will take before he's going to urge to build a wall to stop it. Is there anyone who still thinks this guy has any sanity left?

Has anyone ever wondered why government debt is relative to GDP? If we would measure obesity in the same way the solution would be to eat more. Weight (government debt) in relation to calories (GDP). Obesity becomes a problem when you start a diet from that perspective.

Maybe they meant nominal? I always found it weird to express debt, which is a stock, relative to GDP, which is a flow. Thats like expressing one's obesity level in relation to the amount of calories one eats. As long as you eat enou, you're not obese but once you go on a diet all hell breaks loose.

Interesting questions to ask AI: - What would happen to our monetary system if the economy slows down or goes into recession? - Can we continuously grow our economy and keep our planet liveable? - Arr there better election systems than the one vote per candidate/party per person? Share the answers.

The fact that people can get rich by just shuffling money around without contributing anything to society and that real world solutions for real world problems get blocked due to a lack of profitable business models is a huge problem to society.

We need to observe, think and act from a systemic perspective if we want to create lasting change that serves us. Silvio Gesell already pointed out the problem our monetary system suffers from. Money has become a goal while it should be a means. Let's look there: dx.doi.org/10.13140/RG....

Not a surprise. We are heading walking into a worldwide debt crisis with our eyes closed. An interest bearing, debt based monetary system inevitably leads to unpayable debt in a slow or stagnating economy. An ever growing economy leads to an unliveable planet. Time to change the monetary system.
