www.bbc.com/news/article... How is this man still in power? How is this party still propping him up? Is worldwide democracy in such a bad state? Somebody help me make sense of this.

When they talk about privatizing Veterans’ care and Medicare, they mean allowing companies to provide healthcare for a profit. But how do companies make those profits? By *denying* care to many who need it. Don’t get fooled by the “privatization” label. It means “for profit” and YOU are the cost.

It's my birthday today! 36 years feels like a lot these days, and I felt more than 1 year younger in 2023. Regardless, here's hoping for a long life, a better me, and a great new year for everyone!

www.bbc.com/news/article... Appeals to hypocrisy don't work. He pleaded guilty to both charges, so he's effectively getting off scot-free. I understand the frustration, but this is a mistake.

So many posts on BlueSky these days make me want to ask support for a "I don't actually like that" button. Good old "like" just doesn't cut it anymore, you know.

www.bbc.com/news/article... As a faithful, I will never end my life. It's a gift from God. As a staunch defender of civil liberties, I welcome this change. Freedom to live one's life however one wishes is critical. As a society, let's make sure nobody ever needs this.

Yeah, no empathy here. You voted for a guy that is unashamedly (www.politico.eu/article/dona...) pro-Israel because of your dumb understanding of politics. Now have fun watching things get worse.

tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwik... We should all read from this page every once in a while. It might be a trope, it might be fiction, but sometimes stories remind us of who we are. The world sucks, but we can make it better, one failure at a time.

www.bbc.com/news/article... Possibly this is my own historical ignorance, but ICC arrest warrants look like a joke to me. Political statements, more than anything else. Also, not everyone who criticises Israel is an antisemite, Benny. Some people just think you are wrong.

www.bbc.com/news/article... In principle, I agree. But I'd like to hear any opposite views. Do you think a ban is productive? At what age? With what validation process?
