(Violent footage trigger warning.) I had fun finishing my playthrough of the remastered version of the 2007 video game Bioshock. It's a gruesome but intriguing battle for survival, piecing together the mysteries of a vintage dystopian underwater city. I highly recommended it.

I finished playing through Final Fantasy X. It's not my favourite Final Fantasy game and the pacing crawled at times, but it was striking enough to reaffirm my opinion that 2001 was truly a groundbreaking year in the history of video games. It has glorious animations and a rich thematic story.

The other day I finally did my first playthroughs of Star Fox 64 (the 3DS version). What an incredible cartoony space-shooter experience! It's speedy, brisk, and colourful with top-notch sound effects and delightful voice acting to boot.

I finished playing the cancelled and niche 1996 Super Nintendo game Star Fox 2. It is not as good as the original Star Fox game, but the technical marvel of the software was something to behold. Its SuperFX graphics made me feel almost like I was playing an N64 game.

I finished playing the 1993 Super Nintendo game Star Fox. I had played the Gamecube Star Fox games before but not this one. It was frustrating at times due to dated visuals cues, but despite the primitive 3D graphics it offers some real set-piece spectacles and exhilarating music and motion.

I have finished playing the 1994 Super Nintendo classic gem Earthbound! It's a delightfully weird video game - a roller-coaster of an adventure that parodies the North American culture of the 1990s, giving the player so many goofy moments and yet also some somber ones.

I could not get a good focus on my cell's camera, but I did have fun last night attending the Ottawa Pops Orchestra's rendition of Final Fantasy VII's soundtrack. They covered almost every major track from the game.

This week I finally finished a playthrough of Bayonetta 3. It's an over-the-top but stylish action game that I highly recommend to fans of the genre.

On Sunday I attended the pro-Ukraine rally at Parliament Hill. Despite the tragedies they have suffered, Ukrainians will someday win the war for democratic independence against Putin's imperialism... (I spotted the interim @ontarioliberal.bsky.social Leader John Fraser in attendance.)

Yesterday I was attending an esports video game competition event as a spectator, Frostfire 2026. There is something special to me about seeing young adults playing my favourite multiplayer video game of all time (Super Smash Bros Melee from 2001) on old CRT TVs that predate their birth.

I finished Metroid Prime 4, and I had a great time doing so! It's not going to be a smooth experience for everyone who picks this game up, but it was a 9/10 experience for me, and not disappointing after 8 years of waiting. See video of my playthrough on YouTube here: youtu.be/27_8vAM7tDc

Hard to believe that it has been 18 years since I played Metroid Prime 3! That makes me feel old... After 8 years of waiting for this game since its announcement, I expect Metroid Prime 4 to not be as amazing as the 3 games in the series before it, but still great.

Today is the last day for @ontarioliberal.bsky.social Party members to fill out the survey from the Executive Council and Leadership Vote Committee regarding the potential format of the leadership contest. Here is a sample of my responses.

I give my belated thanks to the 147 Ontario Liberal delegates who last weekend put their trust in me and voted me for party President! Here is a 1600-word reflection that I have written about the experience: stefanklietsch.substack.com/p/reflection...

The cancellation of the Capital Pride march after of a disruption by pro-Palestine protesters was disappointing, but it was still a pleasure yesterday to meetup with other @fairvote.ca volunteers, along with some @ontarioliberal.bsky.social friends as well. This banner was still put to use!

I enjoyed my weekend spent at the Ontario Young Liberals Summer Fling (I am just barely visible in the photo, sitting by the window). Looking forward to seeing some of these bright young minds again at the OLP Annual General Meeting.

Today was lovely weather for making a mark across Renfrew County.

I cast my ballot today! Hope others can make it out too despite the weather. I approve of many of the Liberal candidates, but I encourage everyone to consider the quality of their local candidates in their decision.

I took advantage of the dying days of the dumb GST break to pickup an art book based on one of the best sci fi movies. Also picked up some audiobook CDs for the first time in a good while.

Last night at @tylerwatt.bsky.social's campaign launch I had the pleasure of meeting @karinagould.bsky.social in person. She is the Liberals' best hope of a comeback through the institutional development that they desperately need.

I may have gone a little far in taking advantage of Boxing Week sales and the dumb GST tax break. But it's logical, I don't expect any government to repeat that scheme anytime soon.

I stumbled across the Steelbook edition of this movie for sale for a mere $7 at a Shoppers Drug Mart yesterday: one of my favourite movies ever.

My latest movie purchases. The Steelbook edition of The Fall Guy is still $18 via BestBuy.
