I think the issue is more “political” than that. European tech is at crossroads and there’s aggressive behaviour for dominance. The same thing likely happened in America 20-30 years ago, we just didn’t take much notice or forgot as we simply imported back then. Social media is worth a lot and

They do, true but without usability no alternative will ever emerge. So I’d wean off people from WhatsApp at (almost) all costs, transition to #Signal first (no meta telemetry at least) then onto #EU platform like #Threema.

Other popular #European distributions are #ZorinOS and #Mint (both Irish). They’re considered “Windows users friendly” so if you’re dithering undecided you may want to try one of them first. Remember most #Linux distributions will run on older hardware.

If it can be proven that there is an orchestration from a person or persons that would gain from malicious disinformation, there are courts just itching to prosecute. Gather information, find a dedicated EU law firm expert on digital affairs and sue their a*ses off.
