Shinkiro drew a new illustration for City of the Wolves, using the same composition as the main illustration for Real Bout, which he himself had drawn 30 years earlier.

Rock Howard is seated in an armchair, surrounded by three standing characters, including Billy Kane and Kain R. Heinlein.

I wrote a long article about Rieko Kodama, her career at Sega, the evolution of her company, the games she worked on (including some canceled games and/or games for which she is not credited), the status of women and working conditions in the video game industry, etc. vgdensetsu.net/riekokodama/

Illustration: a portrait of Rieko Kodama with some of the games she has worked on. The dominant colors are yellow, purple and red. Counterclockwise from top left: Rieko Kodama, Alis and Lutz from Phantasy Star, Sonic in a maze, Alex Kidd and his motorbike next to Flicky on a waterfront pier, Joe Musashi and his dog near the Statue of Liberty facing a skyline, the three playable characters from Golden Axe seen from behind on the edge of a cliff, and one of the flying ships from Skies of Arcadia.

Speaking of translation, the first two Japanese games translated into French -Dragon Ball and Saint Seiya for the NES- were translated by Yuji Shibata, then product manager at Bandai France (Nintendo's official distributor until the early 1990s), simply because he was learning French at the time.

JV - Culture Jeu Vidéo @jvlemag.com · 31/03/2025

Bonsoir !

I've finally found some information about Kei Furutsuki / ふるつき景, illustrator who worked on several Compile games in the late 80s. The bad news is that he died of liver cancer on 3 December 2010. Thread: 1/10

Cover of the MSX2 game Aleste 2. A woman seen from the front, seated at the controls of a mecha. A malevolent-looking being stands behind her.

Cover of the MSX2 game Aleste. A blond man holds a pink-haired woman. In the background, a spaceship flies over an urban structure with a huge hole in the middle.

Cover of the MSX2 game Shin Maō Golvellius. A young man holds a sword in the air, seemingly protecting a young woman who looks like a princess.

Hey Daniel, on top of that, can I ask for the latest demographic estimation. Is it still around 80% from China ? Thanks a lot.
