Initial outfit concepts for Medusa from Extra Credits with Athena. The perennial troublemaker of Olympus University, Medusa's design draws on pop punk, nu-metal and early 2000s heroines. Which is your favourite? Art by @stealingpotatoes.bsky.social

Alt text: Character concept sheet featuring several early outfit designs for Medusa from the visual novel Extra Credits with Athena. Medusa is depicted as a young woman with a punk and alternative aesthetic, inspired by late 1990s and early 2000s film and television heroines, as well as pop punk and nu-metal fashion. Across the designs, she wears combinations of combat boots, fishnet sleeves, studs, spikes, layered accessories, and dark, casual clothing. Her appearance conveys emotional distance, guardedness, and a reluctance to trust others. The concept art explores variations on this core look while maintaining a strong sense of individuality and defiance. The overall design reflects a character who has spent years feeling isolated and misunderstood, and who uses fashion as a form of self-protection. The accompanying description explains that Medusa only gradually begins to let her guard down after being partnered with Athena, the warm and compassionate Goddess of Wisdom, for her final degree project at Olympus University.

The very first concept art of Athena and Medusa from Extra Credits with Athena - a Ren'py VN adaption of Kimia Kore's sapphic novel of the same name. Medusa is the campus troublemaker, and Athena is the overachiever stuck babysitting her. Art by @stealingpotatoes.bsky.social
