Yes, that's a shame but I still think his work and that of Zucman etc is of value. It shows what must be done with tax to minimise inequality. Something that would be essential even if a govt was using the framework. And if it wasn't for Gary and youtube suggestions I wouldn't have found MMT at all.

I thought it had replied to this. I had the same journey starting at Gary Stevenson. I went looking for evidence to disprove it and failed to find it. Prof Richard Murphy on YouTube. Excellent t playlists on MMT.

Trisha, the same thing happened to me although I fell down a rabbit hole following Gary Stevenson on you tube. Search youtube for professor Richard Murphy. He has video playlists that explain all the aspects. I went looking for the evidence to discredit MMT. I did not find it.

OMG! Justin is on R4 and I thought for a second that we were in for good news as he talked to Sir Charlie Bean about how the govt could reduce borrowing rates. @mmt-action.bsky.social question for folks. I think this is a non issue but if you can help clear up an argument with myself. Foreign actor (countries, corps, funds) hold 33% of gilts say. If someone wanted to use those to buy things instead of gilts how does the inflation stabilise?
