polina4096 @std.mem.transmute.me · 13/03/2026LLMs certainly changed the way I look at coding as a hobby. Unfortunately, I used to do a lot of useless yet fun projects before. Now it's hard for me to bring myself doing such things as it seems even more meaningless. Claude can slop them it a few prompts, why bother. It all saddens me a bit. 051
polina4096 @std.mem.transmute.me · 13/03/2026Well, you could try finding other things you might like besides coding or even learning to enjoy the things you never did enjoy before. With so much free time, the possibilities are endless with the right mindset. 020
polina4096 @std.mem.transmute.me · 13/01/2026Having a toy feels fun as long as you can do anything you want with it... The moment there are any boundaries it just becomes tiresome :c 100
polina4096 @std.mem.transmute.me · 28/12/2025Oh wow, that thing in dashboard.zed.dev is actually a canvas and not just a pre-rendered video :o 000
polina4096 @std.mem.transmute.me · 22/12/2025Probably library development, especially with Turbo Native Modules. The docs are somewhat lacking in that area. 110
polina4096 @std.mem.transmute.me · 22/12/2025React Native development is such a mess. No definitive guides, no one way to do something. All templates are outdated and/or broken. Nothing works out of the box and everything requires very complex setup. I'm shocked people actually use this. 100
polina4096 @std.mem.transmute.me · 19/12/2025Oh wow, TOML (and also the Rust crate) 1.1.0 got released! 🎉 github.com/toml-lang/to... And yes, they do actually support newlines in inline tables :)github.comRelease Release 1.1.0 · toml-lang/tomlAllow newlines and trailing commas in inline tables (#904). Previously an inline table had to be on a single line and couldn't end with a trailing comma. This is now relaxed so that the following i... 010

polina4096 @std.mem.transmute.me · 22/11/2025Honestly that's a pretty fun feature I miss in other languages, although I wouldn't say it's that useful. 020
polina4096 @std.mem.transmute.me · 19/11/2025Currently the only thing you can realistically do besides not using TOML or doing flat tables is the following abomination. 030
polina4096 @std.mem.transmute.me · 19/11/2025After discovering more preferable stimulants to caffeine consuming it can feel horrible at times. My concentration just gets **worse** and I usually can't sleep well (or at all). As a bonus, if I drink too much I get anxiety and high blood pressure. Yet they are so tasty... 😭😭 020
polina4096 @std.mem.transmute.me · 19/11/2025Apparently the latest released version of TOML (1.0) does not support newlines at the start of inline tables. They fixed that in 1.1, but it's not released yet and no significant progress has been made in a long time. Some libraries chose not to support unreleased features which sucks even more :( 020
polina4096 @std.mem.transmute.me · 17/11/2025That would take considerable space and also be not framerate-independant. I want the smoothest animations on low-end (60hz) devices, my 120hz macbook and my 360hz monitor at the same time. 110
polina4096 @std.mem.transmute.me · 17/11/2025The whole point of vector animations is that they scale to any size without artifacts and don't take up a lot of space. 100
polina4096 @std.mem.transmute.me · 17/11/2025I actually like a lot that the default Bluesky frontend gives you an option to view post replies as a tree rather than a list. It's very convenient. 110
polina4096 @std.mem.transmute.me · 17/11/2025I feel like it has a place somewhere, but not everywhere as a default. 010
