If I say it enough times… This is a perfectly normal-sized stash of sweets for an intro to experimental design lecture—This is a perfectly normal-sized stash of sweets for an intro to experimental design lecture—This is a perfectly normal-sized stash of sweets… #statsed

Inspired by interactive (oral) assessments, I’m planning on incorporating an interactive (coding) assessment into my #biostats course. Students will be given scenario attached. Keen to hear thoughts/tips/advice if you’ve run something similar. #StatsEd #StatsSky #EduSky #rstats #TidyTuesday
Prompt for an interactive coding assessment. Reads,”Scenario
You are in a technical interview with a senior data analyst at a research lab. Your task is to quickly wrangle and visualize a provided dataset. The focus will be on your approach to solving the problem, how you handle any challenges, and your coding process. The data analyst is there to observe your methods, not to judge the final result. You have 10 minutes to complete the task. This task will focus on
	◦ How you approach cleaning the data and dealing with any issues
	◦ How you use external tools (e.g., Stack Overflow, AI assistance) to resolve challenges
	◦ How clean and readable your code is
	◦ How well you explain your process, reasoning, and decisions”

First time prepping a poster in a while and the first time ever for a #statsed poster! Almost ready for #NZSA2024 in Wellington.

Fine, I might have gotten a bit too dragon-obsessed with setting assignment questions for my first-time #rstats class. I may have also just finished Iron Flame... There's no way you can tell... If you'd like to plot a dragon too gist.github.com/cmjt/6e30df9... #tidyverse #TidyTuesday

I’ve been lucky enough to work with Janelle Evans creating stats illustrations for my biostatistics course. The cow theme makes sense honestly!! #StatsEd #EduSky slidedeck, will be updated, biosci738.github.io/cowstats/
Illustration of the steps of randomisation test: choose statistic, calculate statistic, randomise groups to build sampling distribution, compare to observed.Illustration of bootstrapping procedure.Illustration of MLE for parameters mu and sigma.Various measures from a fictional sample of cows and their assumed statistical distribution: Normal, Poisson, Binomial, Gamma.

Any #EduSky #StatsEd #Rstats #Stats #DataSci #Biostats account recommendations? I'm new here and am interested in anything stats. Will very happily accept pet pictures too. Cai (📷) says hi.

Kia ora! I’m a statistics lecturer at the University of Auckland, Aotearoa NZ; mainly spending far too much time making plots for class :) Currently teaching into biostats courses with a focus on passing on the R love!
