woah! you found a shiny! [ #pkmn #pokemon #furry ]

A digital piece of Coconut, a shiny Pachirisu wearing a blue bandana. In the centre is a lineless fullbody of her bouncing on her tail and smiling at the viewer. In the top right and bottom left corners are two crayon doodles of her, one curled up and resting happily and the other munching on a Leppa berry. The background is green and turquoise and decorated with stars.

today is the 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY of nix as my fursona!!! here's some stuff i've put together over the past few days for it. thanks for sticking around, here's to another 10, 20, 30, however many years of nix!! [ #art #furry #furryart #oc ]

TRANSCRIPT:
2016: i made nix on september 20th, 2016! he was originally just a recolor of another character who was ALSO named nix who WASN'T my sona..??? it's a long story. for nearly a full year he was four-on-the-floor! look at that! (he had a cape at this time.. wow!)
2017/2018: 2017 was when i had the first ideas of a story for nix. you can even see the beginnings of im having some kind of evil shadow! i gave him his dress in 2018 :)
2019: grievance was officially created in 2018, but most of its initial development was in 2019! i originally wanted it to be a game... i toyed around in RPGmaker briefly before deciding i'd rather it be animated. i also started toying around with AUs of him, the very first one was the original version of pigeon! (no i don't know why his ears were so big)

TRANSCRIPT:
2020/2021: during this period of time i got really into RPing, and i developed a lot about nix at the time through it. i drew his weapon a lot more! a lot of grievance was solidified here, i really figured out the tone i wanted around then.
2022-2024: i group these years together because i honestly barely remember most of them, just a lot of personal stuff that was going on. but i made a lot of good art! you can see my confidence with a lot more of his themes here :)
2025/2026: and here we are today! (relatively, at least) i'm very happy with where i've ended up as an artist and storyteller. i'm so happy that i've gotten to make art about nix and grievance for 10 years now, it's hard to believe! i hope i can keep drawing for decades more, and maybe someday i'll be able to tell this story the way i want!

i worked on that comic for a week on and off between classes, i'd do a page or two after i was done with my other work. i originally was going to make it polished and not just a sketch but that would've added like.. multiple more weeks worth of work. but i think the sketches still look nice!!

In a fullbody on the left, she is wearing a pink and white nurse outfit with long pink socks and holding a syringe. Her face bears a neutral expression with her mouth slightly open. Next to her is a chibi Luvkitteh wearing a pink bandana and flying on top of an oversized syringe. Pills surround her, and in the background is a pastel rainbow surrounded by lilac stars.

hi everyone, here's a HUGE announcement about my commissions AND my art moving forward! (you can find the transcript in the alt text.) if you're interested in commissioning me you can reach out here, on tumblr, toyhouse, or ko-fi! here's some relevant links: starsweets.carrd.co ko-fi.com/starsweets

TRANSCRIPT: starting in SEPTEMBER, i'm going to be starting my ANIMATION DEGREE PROGRAM!
because of this, i'll be closing my commissions on AUGUST 26TH!
this is a dream come true for me! because of my disabilities, school needs to be my full priority while semesters are active. i just don't have the energy to do this and work for clients at the same time!
but before all of that, i need money to actually support myself and my similarly disabled mother while i'm learning. i will be taking on as many commissions as i get before i close them, and they will ALL be done before the end of august!
if you can't help out, shares are equally as appreciated! future commission openings will be during DEC-FEB, which is my school's off season.

Today we would like to recognize Ken Sample aka Ken Cougar. A Black man who is credited with creating and coining the term "Fursona". While drawing one of his "Exotics" Ken drew a Cougar character that looked strikingly like himself. Attendees of this conference also wanted their own characters!

i think what i mean by all of that is that it feels very much like an "art as a product" type of thing. you're doing it to fit the trend and often the point of leaning into trends is to get the views and likes for it. but it should be about having fun... i worry we're losing that idea sometimes

if you'd like to lend a helping hand: ko-fi.com/katkitters etsy.com/shop/beetlep... reposts/boosts are much appreciated! <3 [ #furry #fursale ]

A digital drawing of a world map against a pink background. An arrow stretches from England to the USA, connecting toony drawings of a cat and a fox, with a plane moving across the top.
Text reads: I'M MOVING! After 3 years of long-distance and 18 months of the visa process, I'm finally moving in with my fiancée next month! I'm so excited to start my new life with them in Minnesota, but moving internationally is stressful, and I could use some help...

Two drawings accompanied by text against a yellow background.
Panel 1: The cat is working hard, drawing on a screen tablet. Text reads: I've been working as hard as I can to build my savings for the move, finding time around visa appointments and working through heatwaves...

Panel 2: The cat cries and rubs the back of her head, saying "Ouch..."
Text reads: ...but the visa process itself has been costly, so everything I worked hard to earn has gone straight back out to cover those expenses. Ultimately, I have the same amount in my savings as when I started preparing for the financial aspect of the visa, if not less. (and I've been preparing for a long time!)
In a small bubble next to the cat, text reads: -£££ visa medical, -£££ transport, -£££ hotel, -£££ filing fees, -££ food while travelling, -£££ rent/bills, -££ visa postage, -££££ one way flight.
