Every time that I start to think that DCC can't go any bigger and crazier, it surpasses my expections! I've finished up book 6 now, so getting more of the outside universe into things now. Looks like things are about to go down on floor 9.

Don't know how DCC made me feel sorry for a mutated talking goat creature, but here we are...

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

I'm up to Book 3 of Dungeon Crawler Carl, and I have to say that his experiences in this book are reminiscent of me riding the Metro in DC. That's what commuting does a person... (I say that as someone that actually enjoyed riding the Metro when I was commuting to work.)

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

Huh, I enjoyed the first book of Dungeon Crawler Carl more than I thought I would. I guess binge reading is back on the menu, boys!

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

Read through the Vader 2015 comics. Makes me want to read through the Dr. Aphra ones next. This is where Hoopla kills my momentum.

010

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

I forgot that there is a silly limit on Hoopla for the number of items you can borrow per month. Sorry, but I need more than six graphic novels borrows per month, especially since I go through them in about a day! Gotta start balancing with some novel reading...

After last week, I'm going to try staying off of here during the game tomorrow to see if that helps. I think I'll keep the drinking though. #GoBlue

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 11/09/2026

Hmm... It might be time for me to dive into the High Republic Star Wars stories. Even if it does turn into a bit of a rabbit hole with its, what?, three phases? Should be fun, at least.

010

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

How didn't we pave this team for 200+ yards on the ground? This is where my disappointment is. No matter what Underwood is doing through the air, the ground game should be more than enough to make this game a comfortable victory. Shouldn't need to get bailed out by the refs. #GoBlue

000

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

Not sure what they defensive call was on that third down. They've been running the ball all day on anything under 7 yards to go, and you go with a light line? That was just asking for a run up the middle. #GoBlue

010

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

Yeah, I think I'm going to need more wine to get through this one. #GoBlue

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

Dominic Nichols is having himself a game at least. #GoBlue

Trey Pierce really blew that 4th down up! Great time for some great interior rush! #GoBlue

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

Really surprised that Marsh didn't bring in that punt. His hands are usually so secure. He did look up and see the coverage coming, but I'd still expect him to haul it in. #GoBlue

The wife picked out a cherry moscato for sipping during the game. Is this considered gap moe? 🤔

000

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

Okay, I can appreciate this Meat formation here on the goalline: 7 OL and 2 FB. Doesn't get more Michigan than that. #GoBlue

Okay, I like this Buchanan guy already! #GoBlue

It's the first game of the season. I've got chills. #GoBlue

I'm back in the world of DanMachi (or Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) after some five years or so. Was going through my Kindle books to convert in Calibre, and found I had most of the main series in my library. I've always liked the blend of comedy in a serious world.

000

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 30/08/2026

Ugh, the numbers I'm seeing for this Ndiaye-Richarlison deal don't make sense in the slightest. Hopefully it looks better when the actual figures come out. I already don't care much for the deal, but I can at least rationalize selling Ndiaye for big money. This right now isn't that.

000

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

Damn, man, Dolly was super cool. Why are all the good ones being taken from us? As a librarian, anyone that makes it easier for kids to read is cool by me, and Dolly was one of the patron saints of that.

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 19/08/2026

Now on to Kaguya-sama: Love is War. I never got to finish the last arc when it came out, so I'm going to rectify it during this re-read. The early volumes are peak romantic comedy.

000

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 16/08/2026

I guess I really am on a shojo kick right now: I'm on to A Condition Called Love. I've got 13 volumes of it, so working my way through that. I'm trying to figure out how I feel about it. I like it because it's interesting to see an understandably broken character slowly grow into something better.

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 15/08/2026

So it seems that I need more bookshelves. In other news, the sky is blue.

000

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 11/08/2026

I've now read most of Whisper Me a Love Song, and I think that one is more my speed for a drama. It's definitely lighter than Yuri Is My Job. Not to say that I didn't like the latter. I guess I'm on a bit of a shojo kick right now.

000

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 08/08/2026

I started reading Yuri is My Job, and I'm trying to figure out how I feel about it. I'm not really one for unnecessary drama (although what did I really expect), but I do quite like the themes of the story. I guess I'll see how I feel the further I get into it.

Going to the USL2 final tonight. Looks like I'm going to get wet before it clears up during the second half. 😭 Hopefully it's nothing too bad and we get to see some great soccer!

000

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 01/08/2026

I read Wotakoi again this week. Always a good decision.

000

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 28/07/2026

Hmm... it's my birthday today. I should try to do something today. Or pick out somewhere to eat out. But that's a lot of work.

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 27/07/2026

Okay, Splatoon Raiders is a lot of fun. I mean, I kinda figured going in, but it's surprising how fun it is so far.

020

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

Oh god, Splatoon Raiders tomorrow. How much am I going to hate myself for this? At least it's not PvP, which makes me rage like no other game for some reason.

000

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 21/07/2026

So, one of my cats has learned how to open doors, like a raptor from Jurassic Park. I don't know how to feel about this development. He's an orange tabby. He's not supposed to be this smart!

020

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 18/07/2026

The air quality here has finally dropped out of the Hazardous rating, so I've got that going for me. I also got a decent amount of reading in, and some story brainstorming as well, so it wasn't all bad.

000

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 16/07/2026

So, I went outside for literally a minute to take some extra trash down to the side of the road (having already taken the rest out) and found out that the fog I was seeing was actually smoke from the wildfire. I smelled like I had been in front of a grill when I came back in the house. Mental.

000

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

I'm still trying to figure out why England would go into the shell so early? Like it's fine to go more defensive, but you have to carry a counter attacking threat. England was just hoofing the ball away though, so Argentina was just streaming forward. The goals were inevitable at that point.

100

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

So one of my friends recommended the book [series] He Who Fights With Monsters, so I'm starting that up. Still trying to figure out what I think of it. But what it has done is make me want to start writing a story that I've had in the back of mind for a while, plus combine it with another idea.

0130

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 12/07/2026

Jesus, that shot by Alvarez was crazy! Could not place it in a better position. Keeper has absolutely no chance there. If you're going to score a winner in extra time, might as well make it a banger!

0150

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 12/07/2026

Sorry, Embolo, but that's a clear dive. I think the referee has to give the yellow for that after that review. A shame too, since the Swiss were starting to look dangerous.

020

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 10/07/2026

It's weird for me to actually feel like reading a book. Well, it's just been so long since I felt like I actually reading something in a text heavy format for pleasure. Not to say I haven't been reading *anything*, it's just mostly been manga and graphic novels for the past seven plus years.

010

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 09/07/2026

HVAC has been getting replaced today and finishing up tomorrow. The A/C will be ready tomorrow, which means that I am glad that we have a basement because it is quite cool down here! Upstairs isn't bad either, but definitely a touch warmer than what we're used to.

010

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 08/07/2026

Got a copy of the Skull-face Bookseller Honda-san omnibus from ALA, and man is it everything that I wanted! People told me a bit about it while I was at the booth, and it hits my manga preferences perfectly.

010

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 07/07/2026

I think the thing that galls me the worst about the match was just how not up for it the team was in the first half. They didn't want in on 50-50 balls and just looked disconnected with their movement the whole time. Losing isn't a big deal, making mistakes happens, but at least show out! #USMNT

000

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 05/07/2026

so, looks I'm in on Splatoon Raiders despite my better judgement... 😔 Hopefully the multiplayer is fun! Not that I won't spend a bunch of time playing anyway.

000

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 05/07/2026

It's been weird weather here lately: either it's clear and sunny or it's crazy thunderstorms. There's no inbetween, no just rain, no overcast skies. I'd really like to have some normal weather, thank you.

000

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 25/06/2026

I get to go to Chicago for a few days. Should be fun! I'm even getting to take the train for the first time.

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 23/06/2026

My wife has forgotten her PIN for her phone and it has now escalated to being locked out of the Google account recovery for two days. Hope everyone has a backup of their PIN! Mine is in my password manager.

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 19/06/2026

I just want to say something about the two passes that Tillman made in the box late in the second half that came to nothing. The first one to Balo was beautiful, but Balo had slowed up and couldn't get to it. The second one to Wright at the end got sniffed out, but that idea was so good. #USMNT

010

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 19/06/2026

Wow, that is a suicidal line there from Australia. There's too much pace from Balo to be doing that consistently. But I'll take my chances with Balo on the run like that all day. #USMNT

000

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 19/06/2026

Great reactions from Freeman to get on the end of that blocked shot! That's why you still crash the net (haha, sounding like I'm watching hockey) on a shot, because you never know where that ball will go. Saw that in the Mexico-Korea match too when the keeper spilled. #USMNT

010

Starshadow @starshadowvt.bsky.social · 19/06/2026

Balo with the really strong run to set up that own goal. But it was good, if a bit nervy, play out the back against the Aussie press which set that up. Also good interplay between Pepi and Dest, with Pepi crashing the far post and Dest pulling out to the top of the six to give Balo options. #USMNT
