Uika, forlorn: Hey guys I'm struggling mentally, but I don't want kind responses. I want you to respond like a mentally absent parent. Thank you.
Sakiko: Well Kate, I don't know what you want from me
Mortis: The phone goes both ways. When's the last time you checked on me?
Umiri: You're the strong one, I never have to worry about you.

she's so. I'm enjoying all the characters thus far but Viola is such a Soni character it's insane. my favourite OC acts exactly like this.

why praise that one ship for being a queer narrative and uika for being a mentally ill character but never interrogate what those things are communicating together. why love Ave Mujica for being a horror show while seemingly romanticising it and viewing it as 'wholesome'

the real question is if they do uika first or sakiko. saki is the band centre after all...

i like that enstars fans have no sense for the ongoing cultural assimilation of okinawa so the ibuki thing is treated with the same level of "problematic"ness as like. your average gacha aladdin set. its fine. its fine. eyetwitch

this is a very good meta-analysis of the various problems of Ibuki Taki (an indigenous ryukyuan character) being included in AKATSUKI (a japanese unit) but, to be kind... i can *feel* the conflict of interest stinging me, reading this essay by an active translator for AKATSUKI.
