I have yet to see a western team (or pickup) experiment with the stamper / slosher / RTLR / dynamo comp, which won against a 52 liter blaster team. I *have* seen a thousand complaints about those 3 weapons in second place. When there are proven results, it’s silly to say “there’s nothing we can do”

Banning any weapon that gets popular, or forcing every team to run a dualie because we wish we’d see them more, isn’t true to the question “how far can we push the limits of the game?” There have been ample enough area cup winners / podiums without 52 to show there’s still a long way we can go

I have 2 years of on-and-off coaching experience, including for players or teams that have won events like From the Ink Up, Low Ink, and more!

Another year, another Riptide has come and gone. This was my favorite one by a longshot. Riptide has been getting bigger and bigger, and since my first one in 2022, it's beautiful to see how it has evolved. Playing in each tournament with Thembo iHop to Healbook, it feels like I get comfortable with people I interact with and the community as a whole. I'm forever grateful for the opportunities both teams and the people gave me. And GGs to all we faced, especially tink, Dylan and Grape are good people. As for everyone else I usually hang with, they're great friends, and I'll always cherish them. I'm also grateful as the event was a gateway for gaining knowledge as an artist. Each year, especially this year, Riptide becomes a home to many artists, the vendors, the trading card project gave artists an outlet to express themselves. I've met many wonderful and talented people through those activities and hustles at the event. The vibes were fun, but for now I'll focus on what comes next for me...

I heavily waited the days for this event, the tourney too, knowing for since late 2025 that this would be my last tournament. Everytime I do play and compete at LANs it reminds me as to why I'll always love playing, but I cannot compete anymore. The game's state is where the better players will get better and those who understand will follow, as well. I feel like I've been

lacking for a good while, and it has impacted my skill even when I still enjoyed it. My mentality for improvement has always to face atrong players, but I realized the flaw in that is that it can easily stagnant, if I don't stay consistent as a competitor. I'm not a competitor, I just somehow managed to do competitive things. It sounds strange, but I am an artist at heart. I believe it's time to hang up the coat and pursue my creativity and get better with it. I hope to those who enjoy what I make stays with me on my art journey and what I do next in the future...And no, I'm not leaving the community. You'll see me still around, I just won't be grinding. I'll see y'all next year when there's a Riptide 2027.

I'm always grateful for all the people I've met throughout my comp journey, and to this day I'll always think about everyone of y'all. It'll always warm my heart to see players were inspired by me and I hope a majority of them surpass what I did. Keep going y'all and thank you for everything.

Blue Flare just got a wicked upset at #Riptide2026. With Alphine playing a tourney every day for over a week leading to Riptide, it shows how one of the best things to say as a coach is “practice more.” No amount of planning will make habits as effectively as getting reps in. #compsplatoon

This isn’t worth the effort it would take, imo. It’s only possible to play against area cup winners in soloq through takaroka. Even if people would swap over, you get more mileage from having more players in a single queue. Ttek has had problems finding matches with powers as low as 2400

I started my PhD program with an eight week old at home, sole income being my doctoral stipend, in a history program, in Knoxville, TN.
