Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 1hI should probably update this since was the original 9 manga/hwa that I picked for this month. I'm always changing my mind. I'm still going to read the rest of these. 010
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 2hI'm not up to date with The Hounds of Sisyphus so I look forward to catching up with it as it is on my list of manhwa to read for October. I can't wait to see what everyone is talking about. 000
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 3hExactly. There is nothing wrong with not liking something. Deciding that others who do like it are immoral or are dangerous is wrong and going too far. 000
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 3hYeah, that always makes things worse. I can see how/why there was so much discourse. 000
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 3hI will admit, I had to look up what "born sexy yesterday meant. Thank you for giving a further explanation. I know next to nothing about Lore Olympus or the discourse around it. 000
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 5hI have one last book on my original list of manga to read. It is Platinum Blood. Then I have the manga that I added last minute which I will save for when I finish working on the list of manhwa I planned to read. I don't know if I will finish everything before the end of the month. Hopefully I will! 020
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 6hI finished rereading volume 2 last night. There was underage stuff in it too. Ace became a vampire at 18. There is a scene of him and J being intimate when he is 15. Before that, in volume 1, when he was 14. So if that bothers you, I wouldn't read this manga at all. 000
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 17hI know that is why people were angry that Sesshoumaru and Rin got together. "He groomed her." Please be for fucking real. I am so glad I never participated in that discourse. It was great for my mental health. Even my cousin was saying it. 140
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 17hEven just having an immortal in a relationship at all would be problematic to these people because how dare you have someone who's over 700 years old with a 20 year old or some bullshit?! I'm pretty sure that's why people were so upset over Lore Olympus (I think that's the name). 240
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 17hThe troupe of an immortal (ie. vampire, deity, demon, etc.) raising a child into an adult who falls in love with them and they become lovers is so far from reality, but people get so upset about it. This would never affect reality because it's impossible to do in real life. 150
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 18hI read this manga before I was an adult. This manga awakened something in me. I think I owe some of my vampire kink to this manga. Thanks for that. 030
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 18hRereading volume 2 of Pathos and I really wasn't kidding about their fangs acting as a stand-in for their dick. Their fangs "grow larger" and "throb". Also they can taste the emotions of the person whose blood they drink. Ace, even while he is human, can taste J's emotions in his blood. His pathos. 130
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 19hI usually don't give shit about the opinions of others while I read anything. I can definitely see the discourse though. I'm glad that this is an "older" book (it came out in 2004). So, it's not on anyone's radar...well most people's that is. 020
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 19hMaybe it's because I had a conversation earlier about morality in fiction, but while reading the first volume I couldn't help thinking how many people would lose their shit over there being sensual and borderline sexual interactions between J and an underage Ace. It was giving shotacon for bit. 130
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 19hIn this manga, vampires cannot engage in sex because they can't get erect. Their version of sex is through drinking blood. Their fangs are like...well...a dick. They CAN drink and smoke as much as they want unlike in FANGS. Vampire "sex" in this is pretty hot though. There is still regular sex. 120
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 20hI finished rereading the first volume of Pathos. I've read this manga so many times over years. It's one of first vampire BL manga that I read and my introduction to Sadahiro Mika's work. It's amazing how differently I'm experiencing this now even though I am already familiar with everything in it. 120
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 23hI am not ready for the my 32nd birthday. It's going to happen whether I am nor not. I am hoping that the next year of my life will come with assistance with my disabilities (ex. occupational therapy) and a path to independence. I would love a job that understands/accommodates my limitations too. 140
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026I need a sugar daddy (or mommy or whatever) to fund my BL lifestyle. *sigh* 040
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026Humans do not need fiction to do terrible things. Most humans do terrible things because they have internalized harmful beliefs from what they are exposed to and they feel emboldened by systems that do nothing to stop them. They feel untouchable, entitled and superior to others. 000
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026For people who only view fiction in this light, there is no appealing to them. You are a (insert allegation here) even if you are a victim of (insert allegation here). If you depict it apparently that means you endorse it. It doesn't matter what context it's in with your story. There's no nuance. 110
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026Moralizing fiction means treating fictional characters as if they are real people, and saying that an creators work reflects their real life morals. It is not based in literary critique or analysis. It is goes against both as it is based on moral panic rather than solid evidence. 110
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026is one thing. We all know that art isn't created in a vacuum. Real world events and our own personal experiences influence the art we create. It is possible to have this type of discussion without trying to draw conclusions about the morality of the creators themselves. 100
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026I think there is a huge difference between literary analysis and critique versus moralizing fiction. One is looking at fiction through an academic lens. The other is looking at fiction through an ideological lens. Talking about the themes of a story and bringing in historic and cultural context - 100
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026I was under the impression for the longest time that the Supernatural fandom popularized it. I did attend a panel about Star Trek which talked about earlier origins of it. I'm not surprised. I agree 1000%! I could just read a regular het romance if I wanted that dynamic. It's not any different. 020
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026No worries! It's my fault for being rather defensive (I've a lot of baggage from Twitter). I'm sorry! Thank you for clarifying! Yes, it makes absolutely no sense as you said. It's so weird trying to apply real world morals to fiction. Besides, there are omegaverse that address abortion. 020
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026It's really not. I have a strong moral compass. I understand that when I am reading a work of fiction that real world rules don't apply. When I step away, I still have my morals. So, let's agree to disagree. I'm not discussing this further. 100
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026I thought that I was clear in my initial post that I was talking about fiction. I was not trying to invite a conversation about actual reproductive rights. 020
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026Yes, that but also the part where you were arguing for people getting an abortion. I don't know why you brought up real people when I was talking about fiction. None of that is relevant to what I was saying. 000
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026Humans have been including all sorts of "problematic" things in storytelling for as long as we've been around. The incest and rape present in Greek mythology is evidence enough. People aren't out murdering people because they like reading murder mysteries. The people who do are mentally unwell. 000
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026It's only problematic in real life where it can hurt real people. It's not fiction that causes people to act the way that they do. They already have underlying issues. People do things independently of fiction too. There are no "implications". Fiction is not meant to be a moral lesson. 200

Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026I'm looking for English translations. I'm aware that there are many original language releases out there. I am not fluent in Japanese so that wouldn't help me much. Although, even if I were, I still want more being licensed in other languages so that more people can read them. 100
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026Wait...are we still talking about fiction here? Fictional characters don't have any agency. They don't "choose" to do anything. They are written to do things. There really aren't any issues with how people write the omegaverse. It's a matter of taste. I take what I like and leave the rest. 200
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026No, I don't think they do. I think that some of them might have been saying in jest, but I'm not sure about the rest. People have a hard time separating fiction/fantasies and reality. It's why media literacy is so poor. 020
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026-- understanding of what is out there. Do I know everything? No, obviously not. There are obviously things I'm not aware of. I didn't even think my post would get attention. This was meant to be a throw away post. 110
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026This isn't even all of the physical books that I own. I also own omegaverse Korean novels too (Define the Relationship and Dear Benjamin). So, if you count everything I have, it is well over 100 series. I've been reading omegaverse for a long time now. So I believe that I have a pretty good -- 110
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026You could just ask me directly. I was not talking about my own tastes, but the general discourse that I've seen. I do like pregnancy in my omegaverse, but I don't have a breeding kink. I read a shit ton of omegaverse. Most of it is digital, but I have a decent amount of physical books too. 110
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026I get why some people would want to see abortions in the omegaverse, but at the same time it irritates me. I've seen some people saying that the omegaverse is "pro-life" as if breeding kink and mpreg are not fundamental parts of the verse. What are you doing here? 472
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026Exactly! That is what I was thinking of. I'm a 200% a Hye-sung defender and will continue to do so until my dying day. His reaction to his pregnancy made sense. I need more focus on the actual pregnancy like that. So much could be done with it too. So much potential for plot/character development. 030
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026Also I would love to see some omegaverse cover postpartum depression more explicitly. I think that would be interesting to see in the context of the omegaverse. I don't just want to see the baby. I want to see the pregnancy and evolving relationship. 240
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026LRP: I can count on one hand the number of manga and manhwa where pregnant men actually had a baby bump. At least one wasn't even an omegaverse. It's shameful really. Where is the baby bump? The stretch marks? The insecurity about how their body is changing and how their partner sees them? 😔 140
Reposted by Cælestis 🌜⭐Squeek @squeekofthenorth.bsky.social · 15/10/2026Whenever I learn that a longer running Omegaverse story features offspring down the line, I always have to ask... how disappointed am I going to be with the story? Is it worth investing in, only to find they just do time skips? Or will they take the time to make the pregnancy a part of the story? 141
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026Yes! I 200% agree! I hope they all get a print release. Maybe if we bug them enough they'll listen. I'm not sure how long that will take 🥲 120
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026I wish Publang got it instead...😮💨 It is very rude. There's a lot that I didn't know about until the last few years. I had to purposely search for them. 020
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026There are not enough series that you can transfer from Tapas to Manta 😔 Most of them are het Isekai/fantasy. None of the manhwa in my library is transferrable. What will happen to Rainbow City, Dog and Bird, Hold Me Tight, June Noir...and everything else?! Lezhin! Tappytoon! Please do something 🥺😭 130
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026I hope Mulle Books is still running and they continue Codename Anastasia. I really want Korean BL novels to get the love that danmei gets. Is anyone paying attention to Japanese BL novels or are they even on the radar at all? 230
Cælestis 🌜⭐ @starmoonboi.bsky.social · 15/10/2026I can't wait to pre-order December! I admit I didn't see the date, clicked on the link and was like, "Why is nothing here?" only to go back and actually read everything. 010
