Thank y'all so much for the response to our first Visual Novel!! We've gotten 200+ downloads on Itch. That's pretty amazing for a first release.
Analytics don't tell the whole story though. I want to know what y'all's favourite part was!! And if you have any feedback for us. :3c

Title card : SUMMER BREAK, DAY 8
[Panel 1] A close shot of Diana, rather neutral.
[Panel 2] A shout breaks the silence “Diana ! They’re here !” She sighs, there it is. She hoped they wouldn’t show up but that was obviously not going to happen.
[Panel 3] At the front entrance, ladies and servants wait for the Hanbridges. Daryl greets them as they leave their car “Welcome, welcome ! Paul, Andrew, it’s very good to see you again !” “Hello !” an uninvited third guest responds “Oh, Mr Bellingham, what a surprise ! Welcome too !” “Thank you for inviting us again.” Adds the Hanbridge father.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreicu5ky2zyg6cerniwy2mm4wyjwedxscxkwd67gaxb5fswv6xhbqhe)
![[Panel 4] Once inside, they start conversing some more. “Thank you for having me ! I hope it’s not much of an intrusion. I was staying with Andrew for the summer.” Frank explains awkwardly, feeling embarrassed to have been dragged along by Andrew to a dinner he wasn’t invited to. “Oh, not at all. The more the merrier.” Daryl answers, adding a convincingly warm gesture to her words. While Paul is giving his thanks to one of the family butlers, his son is waiting. “Andrew !” Akko’s voice pierces the air and the surprise immediately gets his attention.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreicis4kc4fkgr7vebgtj2igft7nt5covussmaaprsrklb2wes4eoui)
![[Panel 5] After rushing down the stairs, Akko’s waving at him with a big smile “Heeeey ! Long time no see !” She joyfully welcomes Andrew.
[Panel 6] The pleasure is shared, he gleefully joins her. “Hey, Akko ! How are you ?” “Great ! How’s the graduated life going ?”
[Panel 7] “With all the preparations for university, I’m thankful for this break.” He shrugs, tired of this subject already. Diana slowly walks to them, trying to gain as much time as she can walking down the stairs.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreicurldte72bqqauuzq5bybosbpxsqnuogj5pl46ax24igjjn76im4)

Title card : SUMMER BREAK, DAY 7
[Panel 1] Diana is anxiously checking her nails, wondering what she should do.
[Panel 2] She’s leaning against her desk in her bedroom, alone, and in complete silence.
[Panel 3] Akko’s voice booms from behind a door, dragging her out of her head “Diana, are you sure this is alright ?”
[Panel 4] “Even if Merryl remembers, she will not say anything.”, she answers, in her best effort to seem more composed. “Hrrmmm… alright…” Akko doesn’t truly buy it, but that should be enough for her right now.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreibisruxgnjqtjmq62ocvk32p5yt2u6tknoti5y7sqt3tren6ma3ci)
![[Panel 5] Alone again, Diana gulps and is drawn back to her unnerving thoughts.
Title card : THE DAY BEFORE
[Panel 6] The door to Daryl’s office, as Diana remembers it from yesterday.
[Panel 7] Inside, the two of them are seated and discussing some important matter. “So ?” Daryl asks. “I suppose it would be in all our best interests.” Diana answers.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreicijbr6cxhiusor3kldg2q6wsvwjlyjmrfbs3tboa65gcrwanjuke)
![[Panel 8] “Then it’s done.” announces the gloating aunt. “I’ll make sure to let them know as soon as possible. We will be preparing for Friday afternoon. Can I leave it to you to tell Miss Kagari ?”
[Panel 9] Diana, seemingly stoic, agrees. “Of course, aunt Daryl. I’ll let her know at once.”](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreicpr4qdf7ub3islw357y4eaysenh5xytra6xcy2yvmf7igxjexuku)
![[Panel 10] The door shuts closed.
[Panel 11] Diana, finally out, rests against it, sighing all her worries out.
[Panel 12] She hides her face in her hands, groaning in them, conflicted on the task she agreed to fulfill.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreifvrquxp2menxm6hvgutrguinw2eofki5fprnncfiyxsw6m5jfht4)

[Panel 1] “Oh no, Akko has behaved splendidly, here, and in… Luna Nova–” Diana tries to defend Akko from her mom’s snarkiness, although everyone can tell from her face she’s not convinced by her own words.
[Panel 2] “–so there is no reason to be worried about that.” Like this was going to convince the woman who educated that troublemaker. At least she is softened by Diana’s innocence.
[Panel 3] With a big smile, Akito answers to Diana’s blatant attempt at shielding Akko from more nagging “Thank you for taking care of her, Diana-san. We are very grateful.” “More that you are willing to lie in her name, we know the trouble she gets herself into.” Adds her mom, putting an end to the charade.
[Panel 4] Diana is embarrassed to have been caught, but that’s what you get for meddling in a daughter-mother discussion. “P-please be sure to enjoy your vacation and don’t worry about your daughter’s well-being.” She assures, even if she can’t meet their eye right now.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreid67mgs3rjnse6dygqz5yqfrbn6rq4slzlutlj73fkxirv5fst45i)
![[Panel 5] No more joking around, the mother’s traits adopt a more sincere and saddened expression, she starts apologizing : “Akko, we are very sorry you couldn’t come with us on the cruise. Next break we’ll take you camping to compensate, we promise.”
[Panel 6] But her daughter’s also more understanding than she let on. “Nah, I know. I’m glad you did. It’s been a while since the last time you went on vacation just the two of you.” She candidly replies.
[Panel 7] “But I’ll take the camping as compensation.” She cheerfully adds, this heartfelt moment won’t stop her from negotiating !](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreibwdxgvagtmjkdobuzgtxdqixxsudfi3v7oowj7aoo2rpkqja3pxu)
![[Panel 8] The mom’s gaze shifts to Diana as she addresses her. “Do you often go camping, Diana-san ?”
[Panel 9] Diana didn’t expect to be asked about her hobbies and a bit surprised, she immediately answers “Oh ! I can't say that I do, not at all.”
[Panel 10] Akko’s dad is scheming. “Oh, then that gives me an idea–”](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreidpxhharzkxborqgtfd33ux6jpvvz77qh4cf6mp5qap3chcdcoaly)
![[Panel 11] “–why don’t you bring Diana to Japan next time ?” He joyfully offers.
[Panel 12] “Hey, stop bothering Diana ! She has lots of things to do !” Akko takes it like another joke, and tries to start bickering again, after all, this is a bit ridiculous, going to her home country with Diana, to go camping ? That’s too much ! But she’s too busy shouting at her phone to notice Diana has her word to say. “That would be…”
[Panel 13] The pause in her answer is filled with emotions, her finger starts fidgeting on her leg. She was considering it, and she finds it “...lovely.”](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreihzzdv4dnbsh3nbk25o63k24sxv6m5lhjlzswiwtzce42xqktbzcm)

[Panel 1] Akko’s mother joins her hands in agreement and declares “Then it’s settled !” with a satisfied smile.
[Panel 2] Suddenly, the parents turn their head away from the phone as something catches their attention.
[Panel 3] “Sorry, Atsuko. We have to leave, there is an event about to start we signed up for.” Akito takes the phone closer to his face as he tries to wrap things up.
[Panel 4] “We’ll call you later.” He concludes as his wife shoves herself in front of the screen “Don’t get yourself in too much trouble. And make a good Kagari impression in that household!” She excitedly adds.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreiaspdwnnvxw6lhe2ornzzym36qgbtzb6ynby4oa56k54lytwstmoq)
![[Panel 5] And the call ends, leaving Akko and Diana facing the phone wallpaper of their group friend all dirty and hugging after saving the world from the missile (Akko did her best to organize all her apps in the little amount of free space she had to not ruin the photo), the two of them at the center of this picture, wide smiles on their faces.
[Panel 6] Akko puts away her phone and feels the whiplash of Diana meeting her parents. Cringing, she immediately tries to apologize “Sorry that they were bothering you with all these questions.” Diana also feels somewhat out of the water here and presents excuses back. “Not at all, I’m sorry for agreeing without thinking.”](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreihu3u5p7imvyz6mkllqoewqkf7656lghor4jnwiyxrwgcccit2wk4)
![[Panel 7] Akko waves her hand dismissively to try to reassure Diana. “Ah, nah, don’t worry about it. They probably didn’t really mean it, so you don’t have to worry about that. They like messing with me.”
[Panel 8] “...Right.” Diana scratches her neck in discomfort, the possibility she was the only one giving a serious thought on it is… bothering her.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreie7n3lzajodhqcsk6icgctx2afwvdoqcltfis2dvq2ubqz6agk7ci)
![[Panel 9] Akko springs up and stretches, glad this conversation comes to its end. “Well, now that that’s done…”
[Panel 10] “...you think Anna has lunch already ?” she says, not even waiting for an answer from the still sitting Diana to walk towards the manor, followed by her loyal canine companion.
[Panel 11] Diana lovingly scratches her dog’s ears, with a bittersweet expression on her face. Oh well, what can she do about it ?](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreibrdidzfyayi7fgv2si7le7bhaqsk5wuqtjactu6raiywtuyzecqe)
