Listening to the new Brandon Flowers album and even if I hate this country turn, man is still really good at writing engaging stories about murder. Angel is a good story. Up there with the murder trilogies. I don't know what it is about him and killing people in songs, but it works.

No. I know the answer is that corporations are cheap because it's not as though people in their 50s are only watching good ol' fashioned tv. Rather Paramount, for example, would rather run through 1/10th of their back catalogue for all two dozen channels they own than fund one single new tv show.

This is why I don't give people shit for not giving up streaming despite the price. The other option is TV (and the free tv streamers like Pluto and Tubi are somehow worse than basic cable) and tv sucks. TV has been time capsuled in the worst way. I would rather watch Youtube.

There is truly zero correlation between what a channel is called and what a channel airs at this point. The names are meaningless. Just know that you will be watching a rerun from some time between 1980-2010 and if you miss it, it will be on a slightly different channel in 1-24 hours.

Nick at Nite is apparently three shows now. Just Friends, The Neighborhood and Big Bang Theory until Spongebob can come on and aire from sun up to sun down. And it's not even necessary to air that much Spongebob. They have 30 years of backlog cartoons they own to run.

I'm starting to get why Hallmark is so popular because they run original things. Those shows and movies are very white, poorly written and I hate them, but it's not a 30 year old rerun so I can't hate on it like I want to since it's the only option.

There are now 12 no name channels dedicated to running the same 6 shows that had already finished airing when I was a child. I think I would hate all of this less if there was any sort of difference between reruns but they are the exact same. At any given moment there are two channels airing Reba.

BBC America, once home to British comedies and dramas that they would air in the US is now good for... watching American movies from the 80s and 90s. That's it. Maybe a Planet Earth rerun but you're better off turning to PBS if you want to watch BBC shows.

When did every channel become Food, unaffordable houses and reruns from 20+ years ago? Like Logo and TVLand are basically the same channel outside the occasional RuPaul rerun. IFC are just showing the same old shows you can watch on Hallmark. TV channels used to be unique.
