Electron is a framework that allows people to make desktop apps using the same techniques used in making a website. It was really popular back when Progressive Web Apps were taking off. Unless Discord moved away from Electron then it’s still essentially a chromium browser page in a wrapper.

Hi, bweh here. I've heard about the Discord age verification thing. Here's my thoughts: CC verification via Stripe is PERFECTLY FINE. I utilize Stripe for payments via Ko-Fi. I get VERY LITTLE PII about my friends/supporters. IT'S FINE. App store verification is pretty good too. No PII is shared.

The best part of Bluesky is you don’t have to use the Discover/For You feeds. There’s plenty of others like OnlyPosts and a more curated For You feed. Unlike the other platform where you’re forced to see what it wants you to see.
