Working on some depression/WW2 recipes. Here is chocolate Wacky cake, with a cooked fudge frosting. Why wacky? The cake does not contain dairy products (though the frosting does have milk and butter). You also mix it directly in the pan, rather than a bowl to transfer into a pan.

Another day, another 6 hr visit to ED, after the followup appt with the Dr resulted in saying, "go straight back to ED". Lotsa pain meds Rocket responded to well, via YET ANOTHER IV. Brought him home, he ate and now sleeping off meds. I need to go back to pick up scripts. Dx: atypical migraine.
