Not going to make headlines with it(since they are out of contention), but still really cool to see and hopefully he gets more shots because of it

My team has mostly looked at Cursor for development. Definitely want to take a look at more tools for Code Review to get a baseline review in though

Hopefully- they are quality buttons and don't have that glossy plastic feel to them

Ready for the 2026 season to come!

What are the must haves in a developer's portfolio site? I'll go first- I think that it should include previous experience and what you'd do for others. A bonus would be where to follow along on in your journey :)

It's a great show! Every episode was a banger imo

He'll be throwing straight gas next year!

Been trying my best in the gym and climbing lately. Found out a big milestone in my journey today:

First full sprint of 2025- let’s make it a good one!

000

Stanley Armstrong @stanleycodes.bsky.social · 30/12/2024

We’ve all been there- I had a similar run and was like ‘oof should have read’

010

Stanley Armstrong @stanleycodes.bsky.social · 27/12/2024

I think this is probably the place to say it

000

Stanley Armstrong @stanleycodes.bsky.social · 23/12/2024

A good reminder is that’s all you need to get started. The rest will come

Marketplace is a nice surprise. It’s really nice to find neat items for good prices

Bless Subway last night for being open. After netting a goal in my Beer League game and getting home around midnight, it cured my post-game hunger so well.

Getting both of my parents books that relate to their interests and I'm so excited!

Had a 1:1 with my soon-to-be manager and can say I’m going to learn a lot from him in 2025

Just a friendly reminder to check out your public library for free goodies first. If you've been meaning to check out a museum around town for a while, they might have you covered for your first visit this year! #booksky #travel

What's the best linux machine out there? Currently- rocking it on an HP Victus, but might be looking to make a change #techsky #linux

Stanley Armstrong @stanleycodes.bsky.social · 11/12/2024

Yeah- I like MacOS as well, but given that you can’t update it would be the reason to switch it.

000

Stanley Armstrong @stanleycodes.bsky.social · 11/12/2024

I was thinking the same thing about mine. Personally- I was thinking about putting Ubuntu on it and having it as a backup work laptop.

Generally after completing the milestone. Sometimes things change during implementation and you may have to rewrite it with the former

Seems pretty cool! I'd be interested in checking it out

Currently- I'm a pen an paper kind of guy. Given that these notes aren't super sharable- I should take a look at draw.io

Take short breaks in between what I’m working on to make a post or reply to something!

Stanley Armstrong @stanleycodes.bsky.social · 09/12/2024

I got to say I’m a pretty big fan of it when I can find the right ones to use.

If you’re not using Djang as your framework of choice, what are you using? Looking for new frameworks to learn and curious about other frameworks or languages options 😁

Stanley Armstrong @stanleycodes.bsky.social · 09/12/2024

Thanks for sharing! I’ll be sure to check out Goodreads and employ some of the other strategies you mentioned as well!

Out of curiosity, where do you usually find new releases that were published specifically this year?

110

Stanley Armstrong @stanleycodes.bsky.social · 08/12/2024

Can’t believe my error last night was removing the absolute path to a relative one. Time to write some serializers and some views

010

Stanley Armstrong @stanleycodes.bsky.social · 08/12/2024

Totally agree! Planning makes a project go by so much quicker, it’s insane

110

Stanley Armstrong @stanleycodes.bsky.social · 06/12/2024

Sometimes it’s wild to me how fast I can do some issues, but on others I’m completely lost. Luckily, writing Django views gets easier over time

This also applies to music from your phone speakers in the gym too!

Early morning breakfast was good. Now to hit the day working on Whenzy.

One of the greatest gifts is a public library with great architecture!

000

Stanley Armstrong @stanleycodes.bsky.social · 05/12/2024

That makes a lot of sense and would definitely help reduce cluttered views on the platform.
