Had fun being a Z-Volunteer on the Zeekr stand at Everything Electric Sydney today. Didn't get to see any of the show as I was too busy chatting with people on the stand all day but will get to check things out a bit more tomorrow and Sunday. Ended the day with drinks with AEVA crew at the Novotel.

The day has dawned on Sydney Olympic Park and it's go time for three days of Everything Electric! The flight to Sydney was excellent and thanks to my friend Eric for picking me up at the airport. It's all worked out despite being diagnosed with a cataract along the way!

Spent the afternoon working on the newspaper from my room at the Adelaide Airport Motel. Then I went to IKEA across the road and had Swedish meatballs for dinner. Ordered an electric Uber to get to the Australian Electric Vehicle Association SA branch AGM and got a Polestar, which felt like home.

Enjoyed quick 20-minute Q400 Qantas flight from Kingscote to Adelaide this morning. Lo and behold my exact spec and colour Zeekr 7X was on display at the baggage carousel, so that's where I did the Teams meeting on laptop with Zeekr HQ about the Everything Electric show procedure. Very appropriate!

Charged up and drove to 60km to Cape Jervis after the SeaLink update said the 12noon was sailing. But on arrival it looked like a washing machine and the soonest they could get me on was the 6pm sailing. So decided to head back to Victor Harbor for the night and get the 9am tomorrow.

Delighted to report the fantastic technicians at Volvo service found and removed the culprit of my noisy AC fan. Just how the offending leaf got into there is unknown, but my Zeekr is back to its silent self. Also got my stone chips repaired this afternoon, so all missions accomplished!

UPDATE: So I get to the service centre and the AC fan clicking noise is gone! It was making it when I left Victor but I didn't use the fan on the 1 hour drive. They are still going to look at the filter placement for me.

Oh oh. Half way through the city in rush hour traffic after leaving the Volvo service centre I turn on the Zeekr's AC and the fan is making this horrible grinding, clicking noise. I kept going but I'm going to drive back 85km from Victor Harbor first thing tomorrow morning.

Drove loaner Polestar 4 coupe up into Adelaide Hills to partake in award winning sausage roll and vanilla slice from Banana Boogie bakery. Then took it out on the freeway toward Mount Barker. Now back at Volvo Polestar Zeekr Geely service centre waiting for upload of last software module.

So I dropped off my Zeekr 7X at the new Volvo Adelaide service centre for its optional 20k service and look what they gave me to drive!! I can't believe it after finding out about and commenting on the awesome new Polestar 4 wagon only yesterday, now I get to drive one, albeit the coupe version.

Purchased a ferry ticket off Kangaroo Island next week to attend the official launch of the new SeaLink ferry Wanggami at Port Adelaide. Also placed on my charging board the stickers from locations visited on my latest EV lap of Australia.

According to my records, we fastcharged 27 times, receiving, 900kWh, which cost $580. There were also four 22kW sessions, which cost $25 each, two at Normanton showground and one at Camooweal mechanic that required a 5-pin portable charger, as well as at the Timber Creek shop with an AC cable.

Day 36 of the Zeekr Big Lap and we did it!! We arrived home on Kangaroo Island after 15,400km and what must be one of the most complete EV laps of Australia, taking in the Great Ocean Road, Savannah Way across Cape York and Southwest WA.

Day 35 of the Zeekr Big Lap was a leisurely, food-focussed drive from Kimba down to Adelaide. Last night in Hotel Zeekr at the free camp overnight saw camping mode drain the battery from 85% to 76%. Late start departing Kimba on this penultimate day, with a tea and a photo at the Big Galah.

Days 28 and 29 of the Zeekr Big Lap saw us spend a couple days in Perth. The first day was a chance to sleep and then do some more walking around the city, with brunch of a banh mi and lunch of udon noodle soup. Saw another Zeekr with a cool number plate and chatted with its owner.
