From hairpins and tweezers to bracelets and mirrors, around 600 Roman artefacts from our collections were recently analysed by researchers from the University of Reading as part of the @remade-uor.bsky.social project. We're proud to support research uncovering new insights into Roman Britain.

Researchers from the University of Reading analyse Roman copper alloy artefacts at Verulamium Museum. The images show researchers working with laptops, magnifiers and scientific equipment to record data from objects in the museum's collection. Close-up photographs show a Roman hairpin and a pair of Roman tweezers held in blue conservation gloves. The research forms part of the REMADE project, which investigates how metals were made, recycled and reused in Roman and early medieval Britain.
