I'm doing DLC for this base already, planning on giving 2 anthro bodies with & without toggled membranes, wings & fluffy vs sleek fur! I will increase the price up from $8 to $12, but if you buy the base as is now, you will get the updated ones for free with proof of purchase~~

Resurrection Is Only For The Strong oil on Yupo 11.75 x 19 inches being willing to start over again and again is the opposite of weakness - JOHN ROEDEL Get the art: www.lolajovan.com/store/p855/a... #art #painting #fantasyart #portraiture #angel #androgynous Story-ALTtext⬇️

A portrait of an androgynous angel rendered in oils.

The poem continues:

“ it's the toughest
thing I can think of

resurrection is only
for the strong

and you, my love,

you are the strongest
person I have
ever met”

How many of you have started over?

I'd guess maybe most of us, at some point or another. Roedel's words hit me right in the gut - starting over is the opposite of weakness. The reinvention of myself has been a constant musical soundtrack to the bulk of my existence. Sometimes I chose to start again. Other times it was forced upon me. Either way, choice or no choice, when you start over, you are brave. You are strong.

It isn't different in your creative life. Beginning again, whether your art or writing was a fail or a success, requires strength. We pour our beings into what we creatively birth into this world. We know what we will face when we choose to begin again, that blank canvas or white page in front of us. We accept the process will take us on a journey - that we may very well feel uplifted or broken on the other side

For each of you looking at that new beginning, be it in life or in art, I salute you. You got this. You are the strongest person I have ever met

Finally got around to finishing up the sketch I started a few weeks ago, and ended up making it into a ref sheet for my sona. He is Jack, he is a pallid bat. Tried to make him true to my own body type, but did take a few liberties, haha. I'm not the happiest with his wings, but they work.

Bats in the UK eat only insects (some eat spiders too), but bats elsewhere also dine on frogs, fruit, other bats, nectar from flowers, blood, pollen and fish. Some bats use echolocation to navigate and hunt, while others rely on smell and vision to find food. Image: Jim Jourdane

Bats have incredible healing powers. Cassidy the Mexican free-tailed bat came in with a huge tear in her wing. It took months, but the tear healed on its own & she was released. The only care we gave for it was flax oil to help keep the membranes pliable. 🦇 #bats #arizona #wildanimals #cuteanimals

Fun bat fact 🦇🩹: Bats are super-speed healers! Small holes in their wings can fully close in just 7–14 days. But timing matters- injuries before hibernation heal much more slowly, and may not fully recover while their bodies are in low-power mode. #TheMoreYouKnow

Speed Healing - fun fact - bats have the ability to rapidly heal wounds within 7-14 days during the active parts of their annual cycle. It's really quite remarkable. Happy Baturday WCS Canada Alberta Community Bat Program albertabats.ca Image of a wing showing several healed scars.
