Going through severe storm derangement syndrome right now...can't wait for plains season. Taken with my pixel East of Pampa, TX on a 0 tor 5/17/23...wishing i had my A7RIII at that time. Manifesting views like this for 2025.

When I read this bill I already took this conclusion away from it, however I'm still glad they're spelling it out more explicitly. Still not exactly happy this gives idiots like Val/Amy an excuse to run others off the road even more often, but meh, it could be way worse.

Spacex literally caught the largest booster ever made on the launch tower, yet this app is calling spacex a failure because their extremely ambitions experimental vehicle is experiencing experimental failures. Critical thinking in spaceflight doesn't exist when spacex is involved, apparently...

Fuel Leak. Look how fast the CH4 depletes at the tail end of this clip. Upon freezing there's almost no CH4 left. My guess is fuel depletion due to leak leading to engines getting closer to stoichiometric, most likely leading to the turbopumps melting. Still an incredible catch! #starship

6 months later, I'm still not sure what this was. 5/20/24 in NE CO. This was after the first major cycle of the storm, however the original base was much closer to us, which leads me to being very skeptical of whether or not this was a tor or an SLC. Character limit, see alt image text.
The old base is only about a mile to the north. The new base is forming to the northeast of our position and we can see it; this was just before the wet RFD surge that transitioned this storm into an HP mess. Oddly enough, it definitely looks like a secondary RFD cut type of structure to the left of the lowering. It certainly looks convincing enough to believe it was some sort of tornadic structure. There was certainly rising motion with it in real time, but it was too far and too low contrast to ascertain whether or not it was rotating. The "pillars" of darker areas on either side of the lowering *could* be dust, but could just as easily be rain. At the time, we pretty much concluded it wasn't a tor, but after contrast enhancing the photos I took I'm no longer convinced one way or another.

Sorry to announce my imminent departure from this app. Not by choice, but because I will be too broke to afford internet.

The BE-4 is such a cool engine. It's the first domestically developed oxygen-rich closed cycle engine in the US. The soviets did this in the 60s/70s while America focused on fuel-rich hydrogen based closed cycle engines. cont.

Without any study, I've mentally theorized that HCLS "mesoscale accidents" driven by SR modification are at least partially due to friction increasing the size of the low level hodograph. Nice to see it being researched. Also provides a direct correlation w/ inflow strength and tor likelihood.

To my knowledge, nobody else has any pictures of the hydro/weatherford ef-1 on 5/19. Completely wrapped in rain and in a place where chasers had to bail south to avoid the river, I've not found any other shots of this tornado. Found while editing photos several months later.
