Psuedohyponatremia = lab error #hyponatremia If the solid phase is ⬆️ (e.g. lipids, proteins), the lab assumption (via indirect ISE) that the aqueous/water phase is 93% is incorrect Thus the reported Na is ⬇️, though the aq phase Na normal Direct ISE (e.g. blood gas analyzer) avoids this error
