First Record of The Weekend is Psychic Tension from Dead Sea Apes on Cardinal Fuzz. What an album - enough power and energy to take on the National Grid and blow its fuse. DSA seem to have outdone themselves - they've become an incredible unit, almost telepathic.

First Record of The Weekend is Smoke Drip by Carlton Melton from 2012. Fine album, and homework for seeing them next week as part of the Other Side Promotions' Psych Weekender, which is probably my favourite live event of the year - its always a total blast!

I'm loving salads in this heat. Baked spuds with cottage cheese, griddled watermelon and feta salad with mint and pomegranate mollases dressing, and a lettuce, cucumber, tomato, green bean and avocado salad with it. TBH I'm not sure I like my watermelon griddled.

Lovely walk on Farnham Heath this afternoon in the sun. Didn't manage to get any decent photos of the wildlife, but we saw a goldcrest, a nuthatch and a gorgeous emerald green lizard. Enjoyed a cup of coffee and some cake at the Rural Life Museum cafe afterwards too.

I'm really hoping the forthcoming moon mission gets lots of coverage in the media. I have a hope that seeing it will inspire people to think more globally - in terms of humankind rather than nationality. I want to see what todays technology can do to the coverage compared to the early missions.

First Record of The Weekend is Pere Ubu's The Art of Walking from 1980. I sometimes wonder if this is my favourite Ubu album (it isn't, that's the Modern Dance). I love the everydayness of the lyrics that nonetheless add to the surreality of it all. "Sad but true..."
