The prototype for my #3Dprinted GT3 body shell is done, and it's coming together quite nice. Still a few tweaks to make but we're not miles away from getting it ready to sell. #modelrailway

My 3D printed GT3 body shell, fitted onto a Triang B12 chassis. The livery is black with a red buffer beam at the front, with white for highlighted areas. The livery of the chassis was green on the original loco. It is still a work in progress as many parts are not fitted, such as the handrails.

Better shot of the front of the loco, the buffers are not black on the end as they should be as this is just a prototype. Route discs are not shown for the same reason.

Brother, I’ve been modeling Daleks for 5 years. There’s an infinite amount of ways to remix and rework design elements and stay original looking. Using the “all Daleks look the same” argument is incredibly reductive and insulting to all the creative and talented Dalek modelers out there.

Again, there’s a difference between “inspired by” and just taking something. The neck, dome, shoulders and eye are practical identical to the PD’s model. There are ways of adapting design elements without lifting them wholesale from someone else’s work

So here’s a thought: If someone took this model, changed the domelights and colors then claimed they created the whole thing, wouldn’t you be upset? That’s basically what you’ve done here. Just crediting someone is not an excuse to copy their work while claiming it’s your own thing.
