many people call the 2010-2019 era of Sonic games the "Meta Era", but I disagree. If you actually play the games, you'll find that it wasn't really meta. Fourth-wall leaning, sure, but not "meta" If anything, the writing here was way more snarky. That's why we should be calling it the "Snark Age"
