Seeing what it's like to fold a 1987 Topps card into an origami crane. Again, splitting the card to make it thinner before folding. I was surprised by how much gloss is on the surface of the card. The backlighting is fun to show how thin the card is. #origamibaseballcard

If you fold a baseball card into an origami crane, this is what it looks like. #origamibaseballcard Using an X-Acto blade, I peeled a baseball card into two parts. I folded the front of the card into an origami crane.
2022 Topps (base) #170 Eli Morgan of the Cleveland IndiansThe inside part of the card. The paper was still a bit thick, next time I might sand down the card to make it thinner.

Oh, this is cool. At Disney World's "Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge," there's a sewing droid, GX-8, in the Jedi robe store. Last year I took a full-body photo of the droid, and one of its head. Today I lightened the shadows in the “eye” of its head. And now I can see my reflection!

After dropping off Evelyn at second grade, I walked by Main Street Park and placed my first treasure chest in Glen Ellyn. I had placed over 900 treasure chests when I lived in the city, but then zero for NINE years while living in suburban Glen Ellyn. I put it on a rock in the park that I'm naming Graystone Gallery.

On the rest of my walk home, I noticed a leaf on the ground with a large circular hole in the center of the leaf. Odd timing, considering I had just purchased a set of three hole punchers that make the shape of a butterfly. I am planning on punching butterflies out of leaves and leaving the leaves with the holes, for someone to wonder how that shaped hole got into the leaf. And here I encounter a leaf with a large pre-made hole!

On my daughter's second day of 2nd grade, I rebooted the #streetworncards series by duct-taping a 1990 Topps Mitch Williams to my shoe with purple duct tape. Some car driving by cat-whistled at me. Full story and pics are in the new art section of my site www.spudart.org/art/street-w...

Wore a 1990 Topps Mitch Williams on my shoe for the walk to school pickup. Less than a block in, a passing car whistled at me. A few steps later the card popped in half. Wild Thing indeed.

Just had a random idea. Over the course of one day, for everything you eat, first trace the outline of the food on one sheet of paper. I got the idea while thinking about visiting "The Little Popcorn Store" in Wheaton. Trace each popcorn kernel. Might be tedious. But might be interesting.

September 1 is World Letter Writing Day. I’m starting a new tradition: every year, I write a letter on aluminum foil. Who would like to get one from me in the mail? #LettersOnFoil
A letter written on aluminum foil. The letter says, "Marco,
This is a letter on aluminum foil. It’s kinda funny writing on a reflective surface, because you see your own hand and pen right INSIDE the writing surface."

The hand with the Sharpie writing the note is resting on the aluminum foil. The reflection of the hand and sharpie can be seen in the surface of the aluminum foil.
