@abdulelsayed.bsky.social triumphing over something like $60 million, $32-ish million of it AIPAC money, is not a "narrow" victory, it's a people's earthquake. This kind of spending is oligarchy in action, to smother democracy through its formal channels, and is getting normalized. Still he won.

New paper from the excellent Mehmet (and me) on how labor of informal coal miners in Turkey is erased in and through the commemorative landscapes created by a state-led geopark development, revealing how landscapes hide who produces economic landscapes and who benefits from their curation/promotion.
