Thank you! It didn’t end the conversation, my boundary was respected, and the subject changed. It worked.

I was firm and not reactive and I’m pretty proud of myself. I’ve gotten so much better at this, thank goodness.

Good for her! And good for you for supporting a friend. 💚

I just did a good job asserting my boundaries. I can acknowledge and accept that other people may not understand them — and that doesn’t make them incorrect or in need of adjustment. They’re mine, not yours, I get to set them, not you.

Just a reminder that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month so I will be reminding people to get their mammograms and men should also check with their doctors if they feel a lump. My cousin died of incurable breast cancer and my aunt, her and my Mom’s sister, had breast cancer years ago.

I added regular library visits to my schedule not too long ago for this very reason. This place helps remind me there are good people around, and to go find them.

I live in the in-between. If I go the other way at the light it gets better. I think I just need to go that way more often.

“Fear?” They fucking CANT. It’s not a fear, it’s reality.

Sometimes I think I’ll move back in town to get away from it, but the racism is everywhere, it was in town when I left town. It was on the other side of the world.

I’m glad for the rain, took care of some indoor insulation today. Flannel is so cozy.
