Take it from someone who has lived in Southern California the majority of her life. There are no riots, no matter what people tell you. There are people protesting, and disrupting the day to day. But they aren't rioting. The ones escalating want situation you've heard about have been ICE.

a family member told my dad a few months after my uncle (his brother, my godfather, they lived together) unexpectedly died to “get over it” and we haven’t spoken to him since

000

sam prevot @sprevot.bsky.social · 10/06/2025

exactly!! drives me nuts when people think they that grief is linear or only lasts a finite amount of time! no one should feel pressure to “get over” any kind of trauma or loss

sam prevot @sprevot.bsky.social · 10/06/2025

don’t let anyone tell you how long or how to grieve in general cause i spent most of my therapy session talking about my best friend who died in 2015 and almost 10 years later i still go through waves of excruciating pain from his loss

The nearly 15 million working people of the AFL-CIO and our affiliated unions demand the immediate release of @seiuca.bsky.social President David Huerta. The labor movement stands with David and we’ll continue to peacefully demand justice for our union brother until he is released.

i hate to be corny about it or sound like too much about it but i’ve watched his career since the beginning and it’s been 14 YEARS like he’s been a constant in my life for so long and we’ve both grown up now and it’s just so wild and emotional to think about everything that led to this moment

050

haven’t stopped crying since the final buzzer my favorite player is finally going to the stanley cup final

i’m not kidding when i say i waited 14 years for this moment and i actually sobbed after he scored
