SOMOS at Baltimore City College is trying to raise $1500 by Tuesday to replace a former grant that covered the cost of providing meals to students and families participating in their Intercambio program, where students teach parents English and Spanish. Please consider giving to help BCPSS families!

For the last 9 years (this is year 10!) our student-led organization SOMOS has taught BCPSS parents English and teachers and parents Spanish in our Intercambio program

This year, our grant funder can no longer cover food costs 😭😭😭. Our community meal has been a central part of our program because it ensures student volunteers and out families got a healthy meal when they participate in Intercambio's evening classes. The meals are cooked by our student's parents and has helped support struggling families make a little extra $$

We need to raise $1,500 by midnight on Monday, so we can make sure the show can go on for our fall Intercambio program. Please consider donating what you can here:

Thank you everyone for the help!!! We woke up this morning with $2,565 fundraised! We went from thinking we could only hopefully do 1/2 of our usual 8-weeks of intercambio programing if we raised the funds to realizing community had our back and we might be able to do it all!!! Thank you so much!!! We pushed our goal to $3,318.10 which would fund the whole 8-week Intercambio session 💕💕. We are hopeful of closing the $753 gap by Monday night - in time to tell our families that Intercambio will still be on! 🎉🎉🎉
