Savannah Wicke is an anxious 16yo witch who plans for everything that can go wrong. But she didn’t plan for her twin siblings to raise an undead army. Or learning her life is bound to theirs. Or now having 3 days to stop them before the kingdom kills her to save the world. #DVpit #YA #fantasy

If living in her family’s shadow wasn’t bad enough, 16yo Savannah Wicke is also magically bound to her dreadful twin siblings. When they unleash an undead army, the solution is clear: kill Savannah, save the world. Absolutely not. Give her 3 days to stop them before she dies. #DVpit #ya #fantasy

FROM THE SEA FRET ⚓Dredge + From the Belly⚓ A queer transman moves to a dead-end fishing town only to find it full of semi-mad townsfolk, monstrous fish, and an ever-present fog that whispers to him. #BluePit #📖#A #H #Q #TR #OV #LGBT

Two fishing boats sail on a grey ocean, with seagulls in the overcast sky. White text overlaps the grey sky.
It reads: A guide to 'From the Sea Fret' a 74k adult queer horror

Grey ocean, with a white-capped wave, serves as the background. The title reads: Excerpt
Text is outlined: I scanned the horizon. It was just me on the water. There wasn’t anyone out sailing, or anyone swimming. I was completely alone.
But… was I? Beneath me were leagues of ocean. Unlike in the forest, where you can hear the wildlife around you, there were creatures that could pass by in the sea and I would never know. The water concealed their movement, cloaking them from my view.
It was getting harder to breathe. The vastness of the ocean was too open, and my skin felt too tight around my chest. I knew, deep in my bones, that something was beneath me and it was watching.
On the port side, the water rippled. Though it was only a few steps, the length of the deck felt miles long. I was compelled to look below, and my body moved on its own accord. Though I was terrified of what I would see, I peered over.

Grey ocean, with a white-capped wave, serves as the background. The title reads: Pitch and Comps
Text is outlined: Callum Point moves to the dead-end town of Perne to scrape together a new life. He's hoping that the small fishing town will give him what he always wanted; peace. Unfortunately, what greets him is a place rife with secrecy, conspiracy and creatures beyond comprehension.
5 posters for books and shows have arrows and notes coming out of them.
Dredge by Black Salt Games has the notes: Capitalism despite the horrors. Something's wrong with the fish.
Old Wounds by Logan-Ashley Kisner has the notes: Queer and trans identity. People are monsters too.
The Fisherman by John Langan has the notes: Lovecraftian. Ocean madness.
The Lighthouse by Robert Eggers has the notes: Ocean madness. Obsession with answers.
Blood in the Bayou by Just Roll With It has the notes: Who can you trust? Small town cosmic terror.

Grey ocean, with a white-capped wave, serves as the background. The title reads: Themes
A moodboard of 9 images sits in the middle. A hand reaching out into dark water. Thick seaweed-covered chains being pulled from the ocean. A foggy wharf at night. A group of sharks in dark water. A pencil drawing of a compass on white paper. Close-up of a hazel eye with the pupil completely white. A pile of fish. A porthole looking out onto a grey ocean. The inside of a fishing shack.
Text surrounds the images. It reads: Paranoia turns revenge. Struggles with identity. Trans and queer rep. Grief over what could have been. Desperation to fit in. Cosmic/psychological/body horror.
Content warnings: emotional abuse, attempted sexual assault, manipulation, transphobia, internalised transphobia, misogyny, cosmic horror, psychological horror, religious trauma, drug/alcohol use, gore, death, blood, paranoia, body horror

The text reads: A guide to The Strings of Willis Manor. A 54k adult sapphic domestic suspense.

The courtyard of a foggy old manor with text in front.
The text reads: Excerpt.
My body was my ultimate betrayer. It was forever my enemy, stopping me at every turn, and never allowing me to exist in myself with peace. I wasn't even allowed to be wounded by being forgotten.

It felt wrong in every aspect. In how it hung off me, how others saw it, how it fought back against me. The constant battle of it, to get it to do exactly as I wanted despite the illness, was a constant stream of thought in the back of my head.

I hated it, and it hated me. It had even stolen my hatred for it. In another life — another body — I could look at that hatred and determine that I was unequivocally born wrong. Not in the way I was born wrong, but in the way of one's true self hiding just beneath the flesh.

Even if I wanted to mold the flesh into a correct image of who I truly was, I couldn't. I was trapped within myself.

The text reads: Pitch and Comps.
Thistle Willis has spent her whole life suffering from a mysterious illness. Confined to the sprawling Willis Manor, she has few comforts. Those that she holds dear are threatened when the cruel Mama attempts to bend or break her into submission.
Three books have arrows pointing to bullet points.
Grey Dog by Elliot Gish: resisting the social norms to be a "good woman"
The Lamb by Lucy Rose: Grief at what a relationship could've been. Dark fairytale vibes.
My Darling Dreadful Thing by Johanna van Veen: Mysterious estate with secrets hidden in the walls.

In the center is a moodboard surrounded by bullet points.
Black butterflies on a yellow wall. A hand holding puppetting strings. Two arms covered in black strings. A desk topped with papers of sketches. Someone silhouetted as they look outside from a wheelchair. A cabinet shelf filled with small corked jars with handwritten labels. Close-up of a greenhouse window. Aerial view of a labyrinthian garden. A cluttered Victorian-esque room.
The text reads: Themes.
Chronic illness rep. Queer rep. Dark magic. Forced domestication. "Female" rage. Body horror.
Content warnings: emotional and physical abuse, physical violence, parentification, neglectful parental figures, isolation, medical malpractice, death, gore, body horror

Be proud of your book and yourself. You poured your heart, soul and time into it, so why not celebrate that huge accomplishment? As long as you stay true to yourself and your vision while pitching your book, you will attract the right audience. #BluePitHype #AmQuerying

#BluePitHype From participating in past pitch events, I've noticed that posts perform best when they: - have a single mood board (vs. a multi-image guide) - have a short summary pitch of 1-2 sentences (vs. a tropes list) - have at least two comps - are posted at the start of the event

Getting your pitch in early (especially if only 1 pitch is allowed) helps a lot. Engaging in others’ posts is also hugely important. The algorithm rewards engagement. Plus it can lead to new friends!! But ultimately, it’s largely luck-based. Manage that reality 💖. #bluepithype

My need to write this novel came through my own childhood trauma recovery (I’m still a work in progress 💖) I wanted to explore whether or not it’s possible to still love your family after they’ve hurt you so terribly. And the nuances and complexities within that. #bluepit #bluepithype #amwriting

My main antagonist is the MC’s older sister. She will do anything to save her mother. Even resort to extreme violence. Which complicates things since her and my MC’s life are magically linked. Getting rid of my MC becomes the easiest way to stop her sister. #bluepithype #bluepit #YAfantasy
