Question for Video Essayist pals - how do you know when to stop on a script? Do you have a sort of regular 'indicator' that tells you it's enough, do you always just reach a natural ending when your gut says so, do you use a word count limit to measure? mystery other things?

thinking about how stressful it is that my physical collection is now missing four 'new' silent hill games (short message, 2 remake, f and townfall) and a movie. i gotta make room and also sell a kidney.

a silent hill nurse figure sat on top of ps1 copies of silent hill, including the Japanese and PAL European releases, and a copy of the silent hill 2 ost on cd. there are copies of silent hill games around it, including Japanese and European copies. out of shot are more of the silent hill series including games, movies, comics and figures.

there is this rotten loop for chronically sick people of needing to afford private care (because the nhs is sick too, really) to improve quality of life to a point we *could* work (yay, capitalism) but we need that care first to get there. what the hell are we meant to do?

pros: got called scully by the group because i had a photo of david duchovny in my notebook i took to make notes cons: notebook remained empty because they never *taught* us anything. i stopped going and got kicked off and they denied my diagnosis for two more years as a result.

early days of my pre-diagnosis I got put in a group therapy course for them to 'offer support' but what it actually was, because they had no real guidance or information, was put a bunch of chronically exhausted people in a room and asked us how we felt. for weeks. we didn't feel good.

same hat!!! (that is to say, i also have the same, which is why i am able to manage the little i *do* as it is, so i entirely get it!). i went to a pain clinic here after a long wait mind you and they just told me to pace myself and not do as much which was uh, not helpful.

That's just ridiculous, and also exhausting to think that they don't seem to come up with the conclusion that if they HELPED with the pain, we'd actually manage to do even more than what we're already trying to push through for???

i have a lot of respect for fellow spoonies who have to deal with this one way or another. the poor treatment and/or negligence i've had around both conditions has been damaging in more ways than one, but as long as we fight for change we have a chance to improve quality of life for us all 🤝

The only things that have ever helped my ME are rooted in my partner and friends caring for me, and private medications and care, which i cannot afford in any long-term meaningful way for it to increase my quality of life overall. my ME has gotten progressively worse over time. we deserve better.

chronic illness is weird because sometimes if you're really lucky you get these little gaps where suddenly it's like the fog has lifted and you remember things you love, who you are, what you want. doesn't last long, and executive function be damned when it goes, but it's lush when it does occur.
