I would genuinely read like side stories like that, or even better just logs and logs of the character’s texts with each other. Beth and Steph’s have been my favorite parts of recent chapters. They have such great banter back and forth when they aren’t dealing with trauma.

Oh dear, the Titanic is my hyperfixation (I say I’m a Titanic Historian to feel smarter), and I’ve never heard this phrase before. Now my mind is trying to put this into the historical context of the actual ship… Many in the water used deck chairs to keep afloat. Got to see a real Titanic one.

I wish I knew why. He was engaged when I started to transition. I got removed from being in the wedding party to just a guest. My tin foil hat thoughts are either his fiancée hated me, and/or he didn’t think he could have a best friend that was a woman that wasn’t his wife. Idk.

My best friend of 7 years. He said he was supportive, always used my name and pronouns. But the further I got into transition, he stopped talking and hanging out with me. We were super close, the kind of friend you could tell anything to and do anything for. We haven’t spoke in over a year now.

Aside from affordability (which is the main inhibitor for me at the moment), I really needed to hear this. My body dysmorphia has been an aside to gender dysphoria. And has also been a mental deterrent from getting latex. It’s always been “oh I’ll get it when my body gets better looking to suit it”

I was in the office the other day. We have a sweet old lady that works in admin at the museum. We were talking about upcoming lectures and she said “When will you do a lecture on that ship you like?” Another coworker that knows me well: “oh no here she goes” I talk about the Titanic for 20 mins.
