That I did not know about Gondar, means I need to know more about Africa and the cities on the Nile. I learnt something today

Brain is mush, and frankly it’s rude I have physical form right now. I wish to be incorporeal so I can haunt my friends because that’s more fun than whatever existence is 👀

Big changes have left me feeling a bit lost at work. It will all work out but it can be very hard when it’s all been the same for so long. I need home to feel sorted. Then I will feel better. I am tired.

Let me help you "do your own research" on vaccines. I spend an unhealthy amount of time in cemeteries all over the world (they are often atop or on ancient sites in part). Pre 1920-1950s, they are FULL of small children. Post, there but rare. I wonder what happened from the 20s-50s?

How bureaucracy is damaging the NHS, todays experience: - Go to GP -referral - choose clinic (then book yourself) - Make appointment asked to send pictures - Told nope that’s not it (after no seeing me in person) - referred back to GP - stuck in loop….

With today’s ruling in the UK, I can only echo what has already been eloquently been said by many friends. I’m with you. I see you. Trans rights are human rights and this is a dangerous trend. I love my friends, if you don’t think they deserve rights then I will fight you. End.

And in addition they are not “back” for that you need a breeding population that can sustain itself. (If you want a read look up genetic bottleneck in cheetahs). I’m interested to see where this goes and what they do next…but be careful with what you believe.

There is no easy way out of extinction. This is amazing and such a wonderful breakthrough in discovery, but this is not fully a solution. Alone these are a proof of the process, that we can patch a genome and bring a close cousin to life. But we still have to preserve what we have.

Em Grimm @spookyfoxghost.bsky.social · 09/04/2025

This is not bringing back an extinct species. The nuance (and my brain started playing the Jurassic Park theme) is this is a patched genome so not fully what would have been but a hybrid (for lack of a better term at this time in the morning)

I’ve been seeing this all over, and in the news and it’s been bothering me. I will make a polite request to check what’s being said by various media, not every th ing os factual and most things have an angle. www.newscientist.com/article/2475...

No, the dire wolf has not been brought back from extinction

Colossal Biosciences claims three pups born recently are dire wolves, but they are actually grey wolves with genetic edits intended to make them resemble the lost species

I have asked this before but in a different way, but I want to try something. How do you know you’re ready to date? Also how does anyone date now? I don’t think I ever knew how to (falling into relationships was a thing) but what if I want to do that mindfully? Any advice? Daffodil for reading!

Update - cancelled my breakdown and got rescued by my sister when the time changed from 9:20 to 12:20 instead to 12:00 to 3:00. Yes that’s AM. When I’m told to “call the police if you feel unsafe” um no it’s dark and cold and I have no heating. It’s a Tuesday what is going on?

I’ve seen this 10 years ago trend. 10 years ago was 2015. I had a small child, was living in Nottingham. I was just getting back into LARP, riding the rollercoaster of parenthood and in a weird place relationship wise. I look so happy, but that was always due to her.

Maybe it’s the weather and stupid chemicals in my being. I don’t know. I want to curl up near a fire and just be happy. Sadly I cannot switch my brain off.

Em Grimm @spookyfoxghost.bsky.social · 09/02/2025

I’m feeling off when it goes to LARP right now. Not knowing what’s safe or what interpersonal politics I have strayed into, or if I have somehow been weeded out as “undesirable”. I think this is tracing how I feel about people too. I feel tolerated and that I’m not thought of as a wanted person.
