Since I've received a decent amount of new followers lately, I should really do a pinned thread of my 2026 publications.
Collage of covers and logos for magazines my work has appeared in. Text in right hand corner says "meagan kane 2026."

What a nice surprise, and a lovely review of "What Haunts the Newbuild?" from @acwise.bsky.social! Warning for some light spoilers--so I guess you'll just have to go and listen to the story first. 🏠 pseudopod.org/2026/02/06/p...
From "Words for Thought" by A.C. Wise: It's a gorgeously written and evocative story, and a fun concept that is treated seriously, therefore never coming off as silly. Kane puts a unique twist on the haunted house subgenre, demonstrating that there are always new stories to be told. A haunting doesn't always take the expected path, and this is a wonderful reminder of that fact.

Forgot to post a pic of my contributor copy of Under A Malevolent Eye (forthcoming from @cursedmorsels.bsky.social!), which is at the moment occupying a place of primacy on my desk. Preorder it now!! www.cursedmorselspress.com/product/unde...
The book "Under a Malevolent Eye" sits on a book easel set on top of a stack of old scifi magazines in front of a dark teal wall. The trans flag and a drawing of a monarch butterfly are visible right behind it.

Alternatively, this is my attempt to capture the specific emotion I felt when reading this part of The Invention of Love by Tom Stoppard (quibbles about “the dark ages” as terminology aside).
Picture of The Invention of Love by Tom Stoppard. Text reads: AEH: Oh, but you do. In the Dark Ages, in Macedonia, in the last guttering light from classical antiquity, a man copied out bits from old books for his young son, whose name was Septimius; so we have one sentence from The Loves of Achilles. Love, said Sophocles, is like the ice held in the hand by children. A piece of ice held fast in the fist. I wish I could help you, but it’s not in my gift.

Wait I just realized you can post whatever you want on Social Media. Look at this book I got at Dreamhaven. The creature on the cover is a goth (it was published in 1978).
Photo of a book called Spaceling by Doris Piserchia. The illustration shows a large dinosaur-like creature standing on an alien planet.
