I would agree with the first part if all this had happened over a few weeks but it's almost 2 years now and everyone can see it with their own eyes, they don't need to figure it out. As for the second part, I have been saying the same thing for almost two years, it's awful to say but it's true.

Unfortunately this is what happens in a country where the almighty dollar is all that matters. Generations of Americans have been raised to believe that wealth is all that matters because that's how a person is judged, not on personality just their financial status.
